Medicine buddha

Today, i would like to share with the readers this great buddha:

Medicine Buddha. Hopefully by sharing this buddha, the readers can pay homeage to him for good health and receive great blessing.

Medicine Buddha has made a vow to help those who call upon him when ill or injured, and to aid those who revere him to achieve a long and healthy life. As Amitabha is the Buddha of the Pure Land of the Western Paradise, the Medicine Buddha is the Buddha of the Pure Land of the Eastern Paradise.

12 Vows of Medicine Buddha

1. I vow that my body shall shine as beams of brilliant light on this infinite and boundless world, showering on all beings, getting rid of their ignorance and worries with my teachings. May all beings be like me, with a perfect status and character, upright mind and soul, and finally attaining enlightenment like the Buddha.

2. I vow that my body be like crystal, pure and flawless, radiating rays of splendid light to every corner, brightening up and enlightening all beings with wisdom. With the blessings of compassion, may all beings strengthen their spiritual power and physical energy, so that they could fulfil their dreams in the right track.

3. I vow that I shall grant by means of boundless wisdom, all beings with the inexhaustible things that they require, and relieving them from all pains and guilt resulting from materialistic desires. Although clothing, food, accommodation and transport are essentials, it should be utilised wisely as well. Besides self-consumption, the remaining should be generously shared with the community so that all could live harmoniously together.

4. I vow to lead those who have gone astray back to the path of righteousness. Let them be corrected and returned to the Buddha way for enlightenment.

5. I vow that I shall enable all sentient beings to observe precepts for spiritual purity and moral conduct. Should there be any relapse or violation, they shall be guided for repentance. Provided they truly regret their wrong-doings, and vow for a change with constant prayers and strong faith in the Buddha, they could receive the rays of forgiveness, recover their lost moral and purity.

6. I vow that all beings who are physically disabled or sick in all aspects be blessed with good health, both physically and mentally. All who pays homage to Buddha faithfully will be blessed.

7. I vow to relieve all pain and poverty of the very sick and poor. The sick be cured, the helpless be helped, the poor be assisted.

8. I vow to help women who are undergoing sufferings and tortures and seeking for transformation into men. By hearing my name, paying homage and praying, their wishes would be granted and ultimately attain Buddhahood.

9. I vow to free all beings from evil thoughts and its control. I shall lead them onto the path of light through inculcating them with righteousness and honour so that they will walk the Buddha way.

10. I vow to save prisoners who have genuinely repented and victims of natural disasters. Those who are sincere will be blessed by my supreme powers and be freed from sufferings.

11. I vow to save those who suffer from starvation and those who committed crime to obtain food. If they hear my name and faithfully cherish it, I shall lead them to the advantages of Dharma and favour them with best food and eventually lead a tranquil and happy life.

12. I vow to save those who suffer from poverty, tormented by mosquitoes and wasps day and night. If they come across my name, cherish it with sincerity and practise dharma to strengthen their merits, they will be able to achieve their wishes.

The Lord Master of Healing is also known as the Medicine Master Buddha Who Dispels Calamities and Lengthens Life.

More and more devotees are reciting his dharani, seeking the blessings and compassion of the Medicine Master Buddha to help dispel their karmic obstacles, to free them from sufferings, illnesses and afflictions, and consequently lengthening their lives - hence this is A Mystic Formula for Dispelling Disease and Suffering.

Common question ask on the amulets

It have been some time since I have been selling online.Today I will share common question ask by people. Enjoy!

Question: why are you selling amulets and where you get from?

I have very deep interest in all these thai magic and amulets. I have interest since the age of 14.The 1st amulet I get is LP thuat. Until now, I have very deep respect to this very compassion master.I have been getting amulets from shops in singapore at that time...After getting so many amulets, In still feel unsatisfied. I still feel something is lacking. Then i decided to explore Thailand with the help of my thai friends at my work place.WOW!!!!! It is so different!!!! After talking to the master,i feel that actually I learn more and when they share on the process of making amulet and how to use the amulet correctly, I feel so happy. Finally, I know very well of the amulets what I am wearing!!!! Then I start to think, maybe I can take back some of these amulets to singapore to list in ebay and create a blog to share the knowledge with all the people around the world!!!This is how I slowly build my blog and my ebay store. Until now, I still have very deep interest in thai magic, every night, I have been surfing the net, writing down good information and show it out in my blog. Until now, I never stop get good knowledge and good amulets from good and reliable collector or disciple of the temple/monk.
Below is the useful link which I list in the past:

http://goodamulets.blogspot.com/2008/04/thailand-temple.html

http://goodamulets.blogspot.com/2008/08/various-typr-of-mantra.html

http://goodamulets.blogspot.com/2008/03/white-magic.html

Question: There are a lot of fake amulets in the market, I am worry.

Until now, I am offering a full lifetime warranty to all the amulets I am selling. Anytime, any day,any year, you can contact me on the genuine of the amulets. If the amulets are fake or the temple or master do not admit this amulet is from them, i will give you full refund + shipping. I know a lot of people are scared because in eBay, there is a reputation that a lot of seller are selling fake amulets and a lot of dealer are giving negative comment on other dealer.I feel very sad, because we are dealing with holy item, yet they are doing such a negative action. To me, i am not worry at all...As long as i am selling genuine amulets, I need no worry. If a buyer have no faith in my amulet, then I will treat it as him/her no fate with me. I will not pursue them to get from me. I heard of a story, from the thai about this pure practise master. To protect further misunderstanding, I will not disclose the name of the master. This master practise very well in compassion, and help a lot of people. Soon,he become very famous..As a result, he bring jealous from other people. So those people who are jealous of him try to harm him..They hired girls wearing sexy attire to visit him many times and try to spread rumour that this master is having affair with the girl.As a result, this master is being kick out from the temple, shun by the village people and disrobe. This master did not complain a single word, he continue to wear white everyday, practise his precept and continue his practise.Soon, those people who try to harm him, strange thing happen to them...one by one die by accident or die of strange illness....I always keep this story by my heart to remind myself the law of karma.

Question: You mention you get some amulets from collector/disciple of the temple/monk , why you did not get from temple personally?

Well, if the temple produce 99 piece of that amulets, and it is being blessed many years ago.Do you think you can still get it? sometime, the 99 piece can be on the hand of the disciple of the monk or being buy out by collectors!!!
I am more worry the genuine of the amulets than anyone because I do not want to waste my money and time.
So, if the collector/disciple of the temple/monk unable to provide strong evidence to prove the genuine of the amulets, i will not get from them and leave.

Question: Can you read thai?

No, I cannot. The information Which i provide is from web, books(translate from friends in thai) and lastly, monks.

Question: Can i ask you on other amulets I buy from other people?

Sorry, I do not comment on other dealer amulets. The reason is very simple, in Thailand, there is over 1000 temple, over a few thousand monks, if i tell you i know all the amulet, I am lieing to you!!! So I do not comment on other dealer amulets. And if the dealer sell genuine amulet and I say wrongly and give you the wrong information, i will suffer from very bad karma from negative speech.
My focus: Get good amulets, promote good amulets.

Hopefully my blog has provide the readers helpful information and has benfit their life. I will try to provide good information in my blog.
I will not place any copy right in my blog. If there is anyone wish to extract any information, please feel free to do so. My information is meant to share with everyone.

Good mantra to chant everday

Today, i am going to share a very important mantra for anyone to chant everyday for protection.

-->
-->
This mantra is found by Luang Phor Parn. Great master found the hidden mystery of Yant Grao paetch (Diamond Armour Yant/Kata) - Consisting of The Kata Ithibisoe 8 Tidt (Eight Directional Mantra) –

This chanting is very important.

Without Yant Grao Paetch it would be impossible for many other Yant to exist, due to the fact that many other Yant contain the same Kata (Mantra) inserted within their structure.

Luang Phor Parn found this great Kata as he was meditating and a Yaan (or Yana in Pali Panskrit), meaning supernatural sense, occured in his meditation. It told him that there was a special magical metal template hidden within the main Chedi of Wat Phra Sri Ratana Maha Taath, Suphanburi province, waiting for him to discover. Not long after that he reached the Chedi and found a ancient silver template engraved with the Kata of Yant Graopaetch. The template had a message explaining that the person who found it shall be a great Master, and that Heaven had defined who should find it. The Template also describes that one who recites this Kata everyday shall have his body covered with a Diamond Armour and will be protected from all dangers, he shall never be able to be destroyed by his enemies. In addition, the enemy will be destroyed through a strange phenomenon because of the reflective result from the magic Diamond Armour.

Below is the great mantra:

I Ra Sha Kha Ta Ra Sa
Ti Hang Ja To Lo Dhi Nang
Pi Sam Ra Lo Pu Sat Budh
So Ma Na Ka Ris Dha Dho
Bha Sam Sam Wi Sa Dhe Bha
Kha Budh Pan Dhu Dham Wa Kha
Wa Dho No A Ma Ma Wa
A Wish Su Nus Sa Nut Ti

Below consist of other powerful and important mantra in thai magic.

In thai magic, they also have a amulet which consist of all mantra combine into a amulet.
This special amulet is call 108 or king of takrut. All small or short mantra are generate from this mantra 108. So by wearing it, you are the almost the same as wearing others and it can be used to be pray for anything thing, example luck, against spirit, protection..etc....

Chinese hungry ghost festival

Today i am going to write about on super nature again. Do ghost really exist?
In thai magic, yes. They believe. The chinese believe too. Today, i am going to talk about ghost and the festival about them.

Chinese has a rich background of myths, folklore, superstitions, festivals and celebrations.

On the Chinese or Lunar 7th month, the Hungry Ghost Festival is one where literally all hell breaks lose as the gates of hell will open to let out the 'hungry ghosts' to earth. Find out what needs to done to appease them!

How is the festival celebrated?
Another belief among the Chinese is that the dead return to visit their living relatives during the 7th month and thus the living family would prepare a sumptuous meal for the ‘hungry ghosts’. The Chinese feel that they have to satisfy the ghosts in order to get good fortune and luck in their lives.

During the 7th month celebrations, the Chinese offer prayers to the deceased relatives, burn joss sticks, paper money and offer food. In Singapore and Malaysia, it is a common sight to see entertaining ‘ wayang’ or Chinese Opera and concerts performed on outdoor stages in some neighborhoods. These events are always held at night and are loud affairs with singing, operas, dances all performed at super high volume. There is a belief that this loud entertainment would attract and please those wandering ghosts. The entire show may be filled with living audience but take note that the front row seats are always left empty for... you guess it, the unseen ghosts! Woe to the ignorant who take up the coveted front seats during the show!

Superstitious belief for the hungry ghost festival
An interesting superstition that the Chinese have about the festival is that it is bad to go swimming during the 7th month. They think that an evil ghost might cause you to drown in the swimming pool. In addition to
this, children are also advised to return home early and not to wander around alone at night. This belief is that the wandering ghosts may possess children. Thus, it is not surprising that swimming pools, beaches, shopping malls, cinemas, bowling alleys, parks and other public places will suffer a big dip in customers during this month. This is also a month considered not auspicious to get married, start a business, move house or even to travel. Plane, bus tickets and hotel rates tend to be at their lowest peak during this month!

Offerings to the Dead
The Chinese also do a lot of offerings to the deceased. These offerings are made by burning fake money notes, which are also known as ‘hell money’ and even paper television or radio sets. Some families also burn paper houses & cars to give to their dead relatives. The Chinese feel that these offerings reach the ghosts and help them live comfortably in their new world.

The Chinese regard the 15th day of the 7th Lunar month as an important date to give a feast to the ghosts. On this date, the family will cook a lot of dishes and offer them to the deceased. This is done to please the ghosts and also to gain good luck for the family. 15 days after the feast, the festival will be over, as the Chinese believe that the ghostswill return back to where they come from after a month of 'merry-making'.

That is.... until the next Lunar 7th month.

Using bowl for healing??????

Amulets are being created by masters to help us to move on in our daily life. The amulets mainly help us in our career, love life, relationship with peoples and lastly, with the help of it, we can contribute better to the world or people who need our help.
Beside amulets, I am also very interested in Reiki, energies, and healing. All theses are very important to us because health is wealth. And nowadays, although the doctors and researchers claim that the medicine are in a very advance level, but the health and mind of nowadays people are weaker compare to the people in the past due to stress and other factors.
Well, to cut the story short, today i will share a article about healing.
This healer uses bowls to heal. Interesting?
Read on:

WINFRIED Rode is an interesting individual. When you meet him, the 58-year old will strike you as some sort of David Carradine wannabe (remember Kung Fu: The Legend Continues?). His long greying hair is tied in a ponytail and he’s dressed in the robes of a Tibetan monk.

<<>>

His weapon of choice, however, is neither the kung fu kick or the fortune cookie philosophy. Rode is a practitioner of the ancient art of using Tibetan bowls for healing and the self-styled “Tibetan singing bowl master” was in town earlier this month to conduct a series of therapy sessions at The Spa at the Mandarin Oriental hotel in Kuala Lumpur. n an interview, I learn about the life of this fascinating man who is now making a living reviving a little known art that was practised by ancient Tibetan Buddhists. “I was a German hippie who left my native town of Dortmund to search for something in the mid 1970s,” he recalls, with a pronounced stutter. “I had studied Classical Greek and Roman philosophy in search of answers, but like many of my generation, my search led to India, and eventually I met a group of Tibetan exiles in Dharamsala.”

“There were many monks studying under the Dalai Lama, whom I eventually met, and became a disciple of. I knew that I had experienced healing when I met the monks, and that my search had ended.

“There was a lot of unhappiness in my childhood and young adulthood partly because of my speech impediment, but finally through karmic intent I found my home. In the late (19)70s I became a Buddhist monk.”

However Rode’s interesting life journey had a few more interesting twists to take. He left the monkhood in the early 1980s and married a German doctor working in India.

The couple, who separated five years ago, have two children (one of whom has followed in Rode’s footsteps by becoming a monk) and two grandchildren.

In the early 1990s, Rode found himself a singing bowl teacher in Nepal and after years of studying the ancient art, he became a fulltime practitioner in 2002.

While Rode does find it hard transporting his arsenal of bowls (he uses about a dozen bowls for each healing session), he now juggles his time between his base in Koh Samui, Thailand, and a home in Landsberg, Germany. Amazingly, he is also a seasonal theatre director in Germany!

“I don’t see a conflict between the various aspects of my life,’’ he says. “I now travel a lot with my work as a therapist, and I basically see it as my life’s work to bring people inner peace.”

Although what Rode practises may be centuries old, but surely there are some who dismiss it as mumbo-jumbo?

“Yes some call me a crazy yogi, but I believe that sound and light are universal. There are scientific explanations for why certain frequencies (emitted by the different bowls) provoke a better reaction in some people.

“The racing of the pulse, the perception of a colour ... this is all scientific information that enables me to make a diagnosis.”

“Besides there have been so many positive responses to my therapy that I don’t question the value of it.”

So what does a healing session involve?

Rode asked me to first allow myself to be blindfolded and then lie face down on a table in the Spa. He doesn’t speak much but his voice is soothing. He then strikes a series of metal bowls of different shapes and timbres while focussing on certain parts of my body and asking me to visualise a coloured ball of light.

According to Rode, these bowls, which are made of seven precious metals (including iron, lead, silver, gold, mercury and copper) have different frequencies that resonate with certain points of our body. The Buddhist Tantric system teaches that there are five chakras (energy points) in the body.

The first is located near the pubic bone and this correlates to the colour green and has a positive quality of generosity and a negative emotion of greed; the second lies 3cm below the navel and correlates to the colour orange and has a positive quality of wisdom and a negative emotion of ignorance; the third is the heart which correlates to the colour blue and has a positive quality of loving kindness and a negative emotion of jealousy and anger; the fourth is at the throat and correlates to the colour red and has a positive quality of peace and humility and a negative emotion of pride.

The last is the crown (top of the skull) which correlates to the colour white and has a positive quality of compassion and a negative emotion of distraction and desire.

By Rode’s reading, my inability to picture green and white indicated confusion which arose out of greed. I apparently also responded very stiffly to the treatment, leading him to deem me among the top 10% of patients he has treated who lead stressful and cluttered lives.

He also said that I had a good heart, but was now caught in a situation where I had to make judgements that were against my nature!

I must admit it felt rather surreal given some of my predicaments, and I was pondering how much of his “reading of my body” made sense, or if it was simply general enough to apply to anyone. Rode’s explanation that “bones are the best lie-detector” was rather eerie when he hit the nail on the head by saying I had sleeping problems since I was a child.

Rode’s final “solution” was that someone like me required at least three further sessions and had to be able to visualise a protective light blue colouring. Apparently, my life would be a lot easier if I listened to classical music in D minor!

Enpowerment

There are many ways where get blessing from masters. Today, i will introduce one of the unique and rare methods which are being used.
Below is the article which describe the the method which i am introducing:

There is a popular display now on a seven-year world tour -- a display of relics, physical remains, it is said, of the Buddha and other great Buddhist teachers. The tradition is that when a spiritually pure Buddhist master is cremated, his remains can include not only bone fragments but tiny pearl-like beads, called ringsel, which are believed to emit spiritual power and even to multiply. In Washington, we talked about these mysteries with Victoria Ewart, the manager of the Heart Shrine Relic Tour.

(The Heart Shrine Relic Tour): These relics have come from masters around the world, starting with the Buddha and other Buddhist practitioners after his time. And the relics are produced because the master has spiritual realizations. So when the body is cremated, then these ringsel -- relics -- are found among the ashes.

So this means that when the Buddha was cremated two and a half thousand years ago, these relics were left behind. So they're not pieces of bones. They're actually manifestations of the realizations of the Buddha and other masters. And the idea is that, when you come into contact with these ringsel, you automatically create happiness, or virtue, because of the power of the holy object

The ringsel multiply, given the right conditions. You can see from the photograph, which was taken in June 2001. And a month later, I looked inside the container, and I saw that there were three very small new relics there. So that means it's an interactive process.

So often people say to me, "How do you know that these relics are real? You know, how can you tell these come from the Buddha?" And the answer is that we don't. But we do have a tradition of these relics being passed down from master to student. And we ask the master in the temple -- whether he's Vietnamese, Chinese, Tibetan, whatever -- we ask him or her to bless each person that wishes to receive a blessing. They come forward, they make a bow, and then they receive the blessing.

He will place the relics on top of the crown of your head. And the reason that he does that is there is actually a physical energetic effect of being blessed on top of the head. It is said to be a healing or a purification of your own body.

The purpose of the Heart Shrine Relic Tour is to bring people into their heart. So by coming into contact with the relics, we are inspired to feel the quality of lovingkindness. Even people who aren't Buddhists, they cry or they have moving experiences or they have a vision. Regardless of any labels of "Buddhism" or "Buddha," people are responding all over.

well, that is interesting right?
There is a lot more interesting article coming, share with you how to increase your luck and love life....

Ghost and spirits in thailand

spirits and ghosts live almost everywhere in Thailand. Most large trees are said to have a ghost or spirit living inside of it and old trees are held in particular respect. The favourite place for female ghosts to live is in a banana grove. There are many species of banana plants in Thailand, but a 'tani' banana grove is the preferred haunting place.

Seen and unseen forces operate in daily Thai life. Flowers, incense, or food is placed in front of shops, on the bows of boats, in front of buddhist icons and spirit houses. Brightly-coloured ribbon is wrapped around trees or other objects. These are all offerings to the spirits that reside there. A cement pole near my house receives many gifts. There have been too many accidents at this pole and local residents are trying to placate its bad spirit. Keep your eyes open for these offerings when in Thailand and you will be amazed at how many you see.

When I told my Thai girlfriend at work I was writing about ghost and spirits she exclaimed, "Oh! Even when you just say the word 'ghost' the hair on my arm stands straight up! Look!" Indeed, every hair on her arm was in the vertical position.

Most Thais wear one amulet or more. Amulets are medallions that both men and women wear around their necks and which they believe will protect them from harm or provide them with other forms of assistance. A monk might tell you that the amulet is worn only as a reminder of
buddha Teachings, not for protection Different amulets have different powers. Some help the wearer attract women while others offer protection against weapons. All amulets offer well-being to the wearer and help keep bad spirits away. Most amulets are given away at temples but there are some amulets which, for a variety of reasons, become very expensive over time. The reasons for this can range from simple popularity to the belief that certain amulets have very strong powers.

There are many tattooed men. Tattoos are often religious passages or religious symbols that offer protection to the wearer. The more superstitious the person, the more tattoos they are apt to have. The properties of tattoos are believed to be similar to those of amulets in the sense that they can offer protection from harm and can been seen as attractive. Tattoos have more recently become modern fashion for some of the men and women who wear them.

'Yan' is the drawing of religious mystical symbols to protect the area from ghosts and bad spirits. Most automobiles, taxis, and busses are adorned with 'yan' and amulets to ensure safe trips. 'Yan' is also painted on the doors of houses to keep unwanted and unseen visitors outside.

Antiques are something that foreigners constantly seek out in Thailand. I have discovered that very often, Thai people absolutely do not want to possess objects that belong to a deceased person for fear of having the previous owner's ghost attached to the object. "Oh! Look at that beautiful desk! It would look wonderful in my living room!" my friend exclaimed at an antique shop to her Thai companion. "I would never buy that," he answered. "I would think of the person who had to work at that desk everyday. I would wonder if they were happy then and if they are happy now."

Asking around about ghosts provided the stories that follow.

Puthamonton is a town famous for its haunted bamboo grove. This bamboo grove is on the grounds of the Buddha Park so many monks reside and meditate there. Recently a novice monk became possessed by a ghost and was exorcised by other monks. Reports in Thai newspapers make this common knowledge to most people.

Supanburi is the home to a famous Thai country music singer Phum Phuang who died about eight years ago. When the villagers saw her ghost walking around they decided to build a shrine for her. This shrine now draws hundreds of people who try to receive winning lottery numbers from the deceased.

A cup filled with bamboo sticks with numbers written on them is shaken until a lucky stick falls to the ground. As the Thai national lottery occurs on the 1st and 16th of every month, this shrine is quite active in the days before the drawing. Pictures of this event were recently on the front page of a local Thai newspaper.

Fortune-tellers, mediums, and psychics get a lot of business in Thailand. They are not only consulted for winning lottery numbers, but also auspicious dates on which to conduct an event, or for advice in general life and love decisions.

A young couple who lived north of Ayutthaya recently committed suicide by hanging themselves. The woman was six months pregnant. A letter from the wife requested that the couple be cremated together. When the family tried to arrange this, two local temples refused to do so. Everyone was terrified that the couple would rise from the dead. They feared it was the ghost of Naan Naak returning again. A surgeon was called in and the baby was removed from the mother before the cremation could take place.

The benefit of having a calm mind

Many people go for medication when they are undergo stress or go for drugs when they are done. They backstab each other at work and doing illegal stuff to get rich. Tiger Woods on being a dad and Buddhism

Los Angeles, USA -- Golf is famed as a frustrating sport but world number one Tiger Woods has found striking the right balance between family and work to be every bit as challenging.

"It is frustrating," Woods told Reuters in an interview.

"This morning Sam was crying when I left. That is only going to get harder, especially when they start talking, when they get in school," he said, adding that golfers find it particularly tough to carry out their roles as fathers.

"A lot of guys, early on in their child's development, try to take them on the road with them so they can be a part of that development - but once they are in school it is a whole different story then," he said.

While winning seven tournaments in succession through a six-month unbeaten streak, Woods has also been changing his daily routine to allow him the maximum possible time with his daughter Sam and Swedish wife Elin.

"I try and get my workouts in before Sam or Elin gets up, I go to the gym really early in the morning and get my lifting in and get my cardio done and come back and have breakfast with them.

"Then maybe a little walk and then right when Sam takes a nap I can go out and practice. I don't want to miss anything, she changes every day," he says.

Woods relishes talking about his daughter but confesses he has been surprised by fatherhood.

"I never thought that I would feel this way. You hear parents say it all the time, but you really don't know until you actually go through it," he said.

"I can't imagine missing anything. When we go on the road we have Skype so I will talk to her and see her and...I don't know how guys did it in the past, technology certainly helps."

The challenge of organising his life, which also includes commercial commitments to sponsors such as Gillette, hasn't weakened his desire for a larger family.

"I want to be around as much as I can at home and especially since we are going to have more kids it is going to be even more difficult down the road," he says.

Missing from Woods's description of his daily routine is meditation - learnt from his Buddhist mother and one element of a religion that shapes much of his attitude to life.

"I practice meditation - that is something that I do, that my mum taught me over the years. We also have a thing we do every year, where we go to temple together," he said.

"In the Buddhist religion you have to work for it yourself, internally, in order to achieve anything in life and set up the next life. It is all about what you do and you get out of it what you put into it.

"So you are going to have to work your butt off in every aspect of your life.

"That is one of the things that people see in what I do on the golf course but that is just one small facet of my life - I am always continuing to work," said Woods who credits his late father Earl and Thai mother Kultida for his winning combination of aggression and control.

"If you look at my parents - my Dad was a former special forces, he was a pretty tough guy, very focused but I have to say the more competitive one was my mum," he added.

"You start talking to her and you will see where I get my fire and passion from - it is from my mum - I get my calmness from my Dad," he said.

There are no signs that his mother is about to let that passion cool - Woods said she remains animated when watching him play.

"She still lives and dies over every shot. I just say 'Mum, relax, I know what I am doing.' She says to me - 'you'll know what I am talking about when Sam gets older'"

Well, believe it or not..

The story is told by tiger wood...

For example firstly people at work generally woman behave positively even my boss and other people as well. Another example...children especially ...for some reason...seem to like me even more..the other day when when I was walking in a shopping centre a 2 or 3 year old baby girl kept smiling at me and for no reason and kept pulling her mother towards me over and over again. Even my ...girl friends nephew..behaves differently to me with full of l to me with full of love, I was suprised... strangers who I have never met before even feel comfortable talking to me. For me the 'metta' level is very obvious and transcends not only to female and male relationship but to everyone that I come in contact with. Thank You for selling this amulet, you have helped my life.
I also need to ask you for your advice, this is a very personal thing to me and also very sad....but I need to ask someone for help. You see my girlfriend and I are planning to get married in the next two years or so but about two years back we were very difficult financially and she got pregnant...we were not in the positiion to have the baby so we aborted. It was not even 1 month so the embryo was not even formed yet...but my concern is what about the spirit? Is there something that we should do to send the spirit off properly? Please advice if you can... Thank you

Below is the reply:

After which, say: may this merit be share with all sentient being in this universal, may them be well and happy.
Lastly, pray that your baby also get this merits too... and pray that he/she will reborn to higher realm...
if got chance, do a lot of good deeds, after which, say those words: may this merit be share with all sentient being in this universal, may them be well and happy.
Lastly, pray that your baby also get this merits too... and pray that he/she will reborn to higher realm...

New home for Buddha statute make of gold

BANGKOK, Thailand
-- It's a ho-hum temple in the midst of Chinatown, one of the most popular draws for tourists visiting Thailand's bustling capital city, and many visitors walk straight past it. Yet the temple contains one of the city's most beautiful attractions – a maginficent golden Buddha worth about $14 million. he story goes like this: Sometime in the late 1700s, a large number of Buddha images were brought to Bangkok from the provinces of the newly united kingdom of Siam. One – a dirty plaster Buddha statue about three metres tall – ended up in a seldom-visited temple near the Chao Phraya River.

It was largely ignored until the temple was abandoned nearly 130 years later, and the statue moved to its current spot.

One day in 1955, as it was being moved, the statue slipped from its ropes and crashed to the ground, cracking the plaster.

Horrified workers noticed a brilliant yellow glow from inside and realized that it was gold — 5 1/2 tons of it.

Scholars have dated the image – now stripped of its plaster covering – to the 12th or 13th century, and believe that it was disguised to hide it from invading Burmese armies and eventually forgotten.

Foreigners can barely pronounce its full name – Phra Buddha Maha Suwan Patimakorn – so most people simply call it `The Golden Buddha.'

Long housed in a small, dusty chapel with room for maybe a dozen kneeling worshippers, the image is set to move later this year into a purpose-built temple that will tower over the old one. The project has been in the works for a while.

"Historic or religious sites in Thailand are registered as national treasures by the Fine Arts Department," said a project spokesperson. "Even small modifications are prohibited without a lengthy assessment process, which is why it's taken such a long time for the temple to get an upgrade."

The 600-million baht ($18.7 million Cdn.) brick-and-marble hall will be 60 metres tall with ornate flourishes particular to Thai architectural design. It will be topped with a seven-tiered metal chatra (a ceremonial umbrella-type structure which represents either enlightenment, royalty or nothing at all, depending on whom you ask). The statue of Buddha will be housed on the fourth and top floor, while the rest will be used for religious activities, a community museum and parking.

Many guidebooks, websites and Bangkok's infamous taxi and tuk-tuk drivers say that the statue is made of solid gold, and the Guinness Book of World Records certifies it as `The World's Largest Gold Buddha." But the truth is a bit less fantastic.

"Well, it's true the image is undeniably stunning," says the project spokesman, "but the only part of it that is truly 100 per cent gold is the flame-like halo on top of the Buddha's head.

However, the body was cast in an alloy with a very high gold percentage, as pure gold is too malleable even for jewellery – a large, heavy statue like this would be out of the question."

The glittering image is a remarkable sight, with its narrow eyes staring down on you. Its slender waist, long earlobes and slightly protruding belly button are all hallmarks of the Sukhothai style, widely considered to be the most graceful and refined example of Thai art and sculpture.

The statue sits in the "subduing the Mara" posture – cross-legged, left hand palm-up on lap, the fingers of the right hand lightly brushing the ground. This posture represents steadfastness, loyalty and enlightenment.

Fittingly, the temple built to house one of Thailand's most revered icons will open on the same day that the country celebrates their most revered leader – Dec. 5, 2008 will mark the 81st birthday of Thai King Bhumibol Adulyadej.

Celebrations will be large and memorable – just like the new temple.

GIRL OR BOY???

recently, i am doing research on Chinese metaphysics.... that why i been posting articles about that... i receive a lot of reponse from my last posting... so u i will continue to share more...

Enjoy!!!!

You can now do family-planning with a little assistance from the wisdom of Chinese ancients.

According to a newspaper report, there exists a graph which can predict when couples will increase their chances of bearing a baby boy or girl. The predictions are made based on the age at which a woman conceives and the month in which the baby is conceived.

The would-be mother's Chinese lunar birth year should correspond to a particular Chinese lunar month in which the baby is conceived in order to determine the baby's gender. A person's lunar birth date is always one year older than his or her age according to the Gregorian calendar that is used today, whilst the lunar month can be consulted from a Chinese lunar year calender.

One Madam Lim, who provided the chart to the newspaper, told the paper: "My friend followed the chart, and bore a baby boy when she conceived at the lunar age of 30 during the first lunar month."

The chart had been discovered in the tomb of a Chinese royalty in Beijing, China, and dates back to at least 700 years ago, and has been re-drawn by Chinese scientists.

Results are said to be 99 per cent accurate.

lust or love

Face Reading has its roots dating back centuries. It allows a person to tell the fate or destiny of a person simply by the various features on their face. Specific traits like the distance between the eyes, the shape of the nose, the curve of the eye brow or even a scar may indicate certain events that may transpire at some point in the future.

Let me tell quote some article on how to see true love or lust?

The image shows a pair of computerised "averaged" facial photographs taken from real people's pictures. According to the research, the face on the right is of someone who is more likely to be interested in a short-term sexual relationship whilst the one on the left is more likely to be interested in a long-term relationship.

Members of the opposite sex can spot whether somebody is after a one-night stand or something more permanent just by looking at their face, scientists said on Wednesday.

On men, a square jaw, large nose and small eyes are more likely to betray the look of lust than of love.

Women found men with softer features more likely to opt for commitment.

But the Durham University-led research found that while men can judge whether a woman is footloose-and-fancy-free or not, there is no common facial detail to explain it.

about 700 heterosexuals took part in the survey carried out by Durham, St. Andrews and Aberdeen universities.

In one study, 72 percent of the 153 participants correctly identified the sexual attitudes of a group of men and women in their 20s after being shown photographs or facial images.

Published in the journal "Evolution and Human Behaviour", the research also showed that women who were open to short-term sexual relationships were usually seen as more attractive.

They tended to have wide eyes and large lips, such as the actress Angelina Jolie.

Women were usually interested in men who appeared to be more likely to want a long-term relationship.

The research tended to confirm earlier findings which found that women see masculine men as more likely to be unfaithful and worse at parenting.

The men and women also tended to opt for complete opposites.

"These will then give way over time to more in-depth knowledge of that person as you get to know them better, and may change with age."

thailand temple

As the Thai New Year approaches next month, Buddhist monks like Phramaha Somgid from Wat Ratchabophit, a temple near Bangkok's Grand Palace, can't be busier.

There are paths to sweep, pavilions to polish, incense to purchase and the daily rhythm of alms-seeking, prayer and sutra study to keep up.

The lead up to the New Year celebrations from April 13 to 15 also sees Thais making their way around Bangkok's more than 880 Buddhist temples, called wats, to pray for good fortune.

The “magic nine" temples

WAT SUTHAT

For strong eyesight

WAT CHANA SONGKHRAM

For the power to overcome obstacles

WAT ARUN

For prosperity

CITY PILLAR SHRINE

To dispel bad luck and attract

good fortune

WAT KANLAYANAMIT

For safe travel

WAT RAKHANG

To gain friends and become popular

WAT PHRA KAEO

To attract wealth and prosperity

WAT PHO

To be happy and live in peace

CHAO PHON SUA CHINESE TEMPLE

To gain strength and bravery

Especially busy are the nine so-called "magic" ones that are said to bestow unique powers to win friends, get rich, be brave and so on. The monk Somgid explains that nine is an auspicious number for Buddhists and its sound is similar to the Thai word for progress.

Devotees say it's most effective to visit all the nine wats in a single day, although even visiting only one or two can bring good fortune too.

A short taxi ride from Wat Ratchabophit to the east bank of Chao Praya River brings me to Wat Phrachetuphon Wimonmangkhalaram, or "Wat Pho" .

Thais believe that paying respects at its altar can bring happiness and the promise of a peaceful life. Many tourists go there to see the 46m gilded reclining Buddha. It is often crowded at the statue's enormous feet, which is inlaid with mother-of-pearl and bears the inscriptions of the 108 auspicious characteristics of Buddha.

Next, I made for the Wat Phra Kaeo, located in the outer west section of the nearby Grand Palace. Known as the Temple of the Emerald Buddha, the stone statue is Thailand's most sacred Buddha image. The Thais believe that it bestows wealth and prosperity on those who worship it.

A short ferry ride across the Chao Praya from the Grand Palace is Wat Arun, the Temple of Dawn. Though a much older temple, it too is said to have the power to grant prosperity.

A short time later, I find myself passing through the ornate wooden entrance doors of Wat Suthat, situated near the city's centre. I have an appointment at the altar with the "god of good vision" inside its high-roofed Burmese-style wihara or central pavilion.

I leave the wat with an enlivened sense of smell, thanks to pots of powerful vegetable curry which the resident kitchen staff have been busily stewing for a ceremonial feast that evening.

Nearest to Wat Suthat is the formidable Wat Saket, perched on top of the Golden Mountain, with its towering trumpet-like pagoda visible from almost any point in central Bangkok.

Having somehow lost my map of "magic" temples and not keen to push my luck in the congested traffic, I decided to forgo the next "magic" wat, follow my own mantra that "fortune favours the brave", and headed for the Golden Mountain, an artificial hill on which successive Thai kings have built a place of worship over the centuries.

The most recent was King Rama V, who constructed the present pagoda and installed a precious relic - reputedly a piece of Buddha's collarbone - inside it.

Every day, some 2,000 sightseers struggle up the Golden Mountain to Wat Saket to catch the 360-degree panoramic view of the city from its concourse - except during the wet season in August.

Says Saket's monk-turned-caretaker Assajita Awale: "We don't allow tourists up onto the concourse during electrical storms. Even with our lightning rod installed, no amount of good fortune can protect you from a wayward thunderbolt."

Surely no one, pilgrim or tourist, would dispute that.
