Luang Phor Koon was born on thursday, 4th October B.E.2466(1923). He was raised in a well family. When Luang Phor Koon was 7 years old, his grandfather brought him to study Thai and Pali under Archan Cheum, Archan Sai and Phra Archan Lee in a temple near his house.
Luang Phor Koon was ordained as a monk at the age 21years old at Wat Thanon (Hatyai) on 5th May B.E.2487(1944). Phra Kru Wijahn Dtigit was the preceptor. Phra Kru Atigahn Torng Suk was his Dharma teacher. His monk name was Pisuttoh.Luang Phor Koon stayed in Wat Thanon Hatyai to study Dharma and he also learnt under Luang Phor Daeng. He learned dharma, sammahdti and wichah. Luang Phor Koon was very diligent and he studied hard. Seeing that LP Koon was very keen in learning, LP Daeng brought him to meet Luang Phor Kong who was the abbot of Wat Hatyai. LP Koon became disciple of LP Kong who was in fact a forest monk and whom he was to accompany on long journeys in the jungles.Beside dharma and sammahdti, LP Kong also taught LP Koon Wichah and type technique of inserting takrut into a person arm. After learning from LP Kong he Went Tudung alone. He when as far as Laos and Cambodia, remaining in the jungles for many years. LP Koon returned to Thailand after 10 years and resided at Wat Bahn Rai Nakon Raatchaseemah. When LP Koon first came to Wat Bahn Rai, the temple was in a dilapidated state. There was only an old (salah)shelter, (bot)hall, and (guti)a place where a Buddha statue is generally placed.Luang Phor Koon was determined to rebuild the temple. He approached the abbot of the temple at the time, and asked for his help. The abbot told him that the temple did not have sufficient fund (only 10,000 baht) and asked LP Koon how much money he required to rebuild the temple. LP Koon replied that he needed 3 to 4 million baht. When the abbot heard that, he said that he was not able to help though it was his duty. LP Koon then asked the villagers and his lay disciples to source fund. Many people came forward and helped. The total fund collected was almost 2 million baht and Wat Bahn Rai was able to be rebuilt.LP Koon was gradually gaining popularity in Nakon Raatchaseemah. Whenever people heard LP Koon want to build a temple or a school, many people would come forward and help. LP Koon had built many schools, temples and hospitals in Nakon Raatchaseemah. Whenever devotees go to Wat Bahn Rai, be rich or poor, LP Koon will meet them personally and bless them.
Some 10,000 people a day used to come to Wat Bahn Rai temple to be whacked or more gently blessed. That number is down since the Thai economy tumbled a number of years ago although it probably should have increased. Most pilgrims come to him for one reason to get richer. "They believe he has magic power" say Amporn Charnkuntawat.The monks fame reached new heights in 1993 when a woman was pulledout alive from the rubble of a collapsed hotel, clutching an amulet with his image on it. Stories of LP Koon followers who have won the lottery abound.

Then in 1993, a large hotel collapsed in Korat, a large town near L.P. Koon's monastery, killing over 150 people. Goddess Of great miracle and Great Compassion thailand amulet

Guan Yin is the bodhisattva of compassion, revered by Buddhists as the Goddess of Mercy. Her name is short for Guan Shi Yin. Guan means to observe, watch, or monitor; Shi means the world; Yin means sounds, specifically sounds of those who suffer. Thus, Guan Yin is a compassionate being who watches for, and responds to, the people in the world who cry out for help.

Bodhi means wisdom or enlightenment; sattva means being or essence. Put the two together and you get bodhisattva, a being who is enlightened and ready to transcend the cycles of birth and death, but chooses to return to the material world in order to help other people reach the same level of enlightenment. This is the ultimate demonstration of pure compassion.

Avalokiteshvara Bodhisattva is the embodiment of great compassion. He has vowed to free all sentient beings from suffering.

Avalokiteshvara Bodhisattva is has great powers and can help all sentient beings. His skilful means are limitless and he can appear in any form in all the six realms of existence to relieve the suffering of the sentient beings who live there. He vowed to rescue those who call on him when they are in suffering, for example, when caught in a fire, shipwrecked or facing an attack.

In the Lotus Sutra, Shakyamuni Buddha said that if a suffering being hears the name of Avalokiteshvara Bodhisattva and earnestly calls out to the bodhisattva, Avalokiteshvara will hear the call and relieve that being from his suffering.

According to the Huayen Sutra, Avalokiteshvara Bodhisattva transforms himself into forms that suit the nature of those to be helped. His manifestations or transformation bodies are countless.

e.g. if a boy or girl is about to gain some enlightenment, Avalokiteshvara Bodhisattva transforms himself into a boy or a girl to teach the child.

e.g. If a monk is about to attain some enlightenment, Avalokiteshvara Bodhisattva transforms himself into a monk.

In short, he can appear as a monk, a nun, or a normal person like you and me. The purpose of such transformations is to make people feel close to him and willing to listen to his words.

The thousand hands of this bodhisattva represent Guan Yin's many abilities to render assistance.

Reversal of Eyesight While I was in Cambria, CA, I hiked along East - West Ranch and above the path atop the hills looking at the view of the ocean, landscape and the setting sun. The sun looked beautiful through the trees, its rays exploding out like rainbow darts, sharp spears of light.I wasn't thinking about my eyesight when I placed the viewfinder in front of right eye, to get the perfect shot, in fact I took several pictures as the sun was still high in the sky and descending into the horizon. That day, I was in thailand and I heard in the temple 10km away, there is a very famous fortune teller master. So I decided to pay him a a visit. They say that most devotes who has visited him will go back to thank him again because they live get better after seeking his help.

When I reach, there is a very long queue. So I took a seat and sit behind. after 2 hours of waiting, I managed to meet the master. After talking and consult him, I find that he is a very compassionate master who out to help us! before me, I has saw a young guy who left with only 1 leg. He lost his leg during a accident. The city of Vesali was tormented by three evils : poverty, cholera and devils. Devils were roaming the city feasting on dead bodies and even people. The King of Vesali was advised to seek the help of the Buddha.
Accepting the invitation, the Buddha with company, arrived at Vesali. With his transcendental powers, he caused heavy rain to pour down, so heavy that it cleaned the city of all dead bodies and uncleanliness.
Later on, Ananda, his disciple went around the city, reciting portions of the Tipitika, and sprinkling lustral water around the city. Suffering humans were healed, while all devils were frightened and fled the city.

Story : The giant Asurindarahu wanted to see the Buddha, but was reluctant to bow before him. The Buddha, while lying down, presented himself as much larger than the giant. He then showed him the realm of heaven with heavenly figures all larger than the giant. After all this, Asurindarahu, the giant, was humbled, and made his obeisance to the Buddha before leaving.

As live fish and turtles sealed in small key rings have become an increasingly popular trinkets sold at subway entrances and train stations, animal protection groups are advocating an immediate ban, calling the item an example of "pure animal abuse."

However, there is no existing animal protection law that would prevent their sales, explain animal rights groups.

At the Sihui subway station C entrance, one vendor hawked such rings.

Filled with colored water, each 7centimeterlong key ring encapsulated either one Brazil turtle or two small kingfish.

"The water in the key ring has 'nutrients'," claimed the vendor. "They can live for months inside there."

Business was looking good Tuesday afternoon as one fish and nine turtle rings sold within five minutes.

"I'll hang it in my office, it looks nice and brings good luck, " a man in his 30s said after buying a turtle key ring.

"I bought one to free it. It looks so miserable," a woman told the Global Times.



According to Mary Peng, cofounder of the International Center for Veterinary Services, fish and turtles wouldn't survive very long in a sealed plastic bag. "They would run out of oxygen," Peng said.

Animal protection groups are voicing strong opposition to the key ring sales.

"To put a living thing inside a sealed and confined space for profit is immoral and pure animal abuse," said Qin Xiaona, director of the NGO Capital Animal Welfare Association.

However, "China only has a Wild Animal Protection Law," Qin explained. "If the animals are not wild animals they fall outside the law's scope."

"If an animal protection law is too much to hope for, we urgently need an antianimal abuse law," Qin said,a appealing to citizens not to buy such key rings. "If nobody buys it, the market will die," she added.

Several Buddha statues in the Pu Xian Service Center of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, were recently seen moving their lips, blinking, moving their chests and hands, and emitting light. The strange phenomenon occurred for about an hour.

At 5–6 p.m. local time on Feb. 27, after a service at the Buddhist center, more than 100 members were lining up to meet Tong Chew, the abbot of the center, when they saw that the Buddha statues in the room started moving, Malaysia’s Chinese newspaper Guang Ming Daily reported.

The witnesses told the newspaper that they first saw one Buddha statue’s lips moving, and its chest also moved as if it was breathing. Then, other statues started moving their lips too, and some kept blinking and even moved their fingers up and down.

Many of the witnesses recorded the strange phenomenon with their cell phones and cameras, and uploaded the videos to YouTube and Facebook. One particular video shows light emanating from the swastika symbol on a Buddha statue’s chest several times. Another video shows a blue light appearing behind a Buddha statue.

“Before the Buddha statues moved their mouths, some members said they saw a ray entering the statues, and the statues immediately moved as if life had been injected,” Yang Ping, a Buddhist at the center, told Guang Ming Daily.

Abbot Chew claims that phenomena like this have happened numerous times, according to Guang Ming Daily. In the beginning, the statues only emitted light, but later they started making noises, he said.

“The voices from the statues are particularly loud and harmonious, and sound like they are from another dimension,” he told Guang Ming Daily.{etRelated 31484, 34553, 35126}

Chew also said that a statue located outdoors has been seen levitating a foot above ground, but because the statue was emitting bright light, nothing can be seen in the videos recorded.

Even more incredibly, some people who were present in the center on Feb. 27 said they couldn’t see the statues moving, but in the videos that they took, they could see the statues moving their lips. Others said they saw the statues moving in person, but their videos don’t show anything abnormal.

Some have tried to explain the viewing of the Buddha statues moving as a collective illusion among the members of the Buddhist center, but to date no one has been able to explain the videos that show the Buddha statues moving.
