More than 340 dead foetuses found hidden in Thai temple

BANGKOK - The bodies of more than 340 human foetuses, apparently from an illegal abortion clinic, were discovered inside a Buddhist temple in central Bangkok, Thai police said Tuesday.

A total of 348 corpses, wrapped in plastic bags and newspaper, were found by a member of temple staff in a mortuary storage area.

Police Colonel Metee Rakphan said plastic bags were found "with foetal corpses inside hidden in the storehouse of a temple".

"We assume that they were from illegal abortion clinics, and we are now investigating," he told AFP, adding that they were questioning the temple mortician.

One rescue worker with the Poh Teck Tung foundation, a charity that provides emergency rescue and body recovery services, said up to 500 foetuses could eventually be uncovered.

Buddhist temples in Thailand not only perform cremation ceremonies, but also store bodies in specially refrigerated areas.

Abortion is illegal in Thailand except when it is judged that delivery would harm the mother or when the pregnancy is the result of rape.

Every day, he wakes up at 4 am, cooks a simple hot meal and then, along with his team, loads it in a van and travels about 200 km feeding the homeless in Madurai, Tamil Nadu.

Krishnan feeds, often with his hands, almost 400 destitute people every day. And for those who need it, he provides a free haircut too.


According to CNN, eight years ago, this award-winning chef with a five-star hotel chain was all set to go to Switzerland for a high-profile posting. On a visit to a Madurai temple, he came across a homeless, old man eating his own human waste. That stark sight changed Krishnan's life.

Much to the dismay of his parents, CNN says, Krishnan abandoned his career plans and decided to spend his life and his professional training in looking after those who could not care for themselves. He has provided more than 1.2 million hot meals through his nonprofit organisation Akshaya Trust, and now hopes to extend this to shelter for the homeless too.

Krishnan is the only Indian in a list of 10 heroes that CNN has picked worldwide to honour. One of them will be chosen CNN Hero of the Year, selected by the public through an online poll. If many Indians get together to vote for this inspiring man, he can win by a long mile.

If Krishnan wins he will get $100,000 in addition to the $25,000 that he gets for being shortlisted for the Top 10. Akshaya Trust needs all the monetary support it can get to build on Krishnan's dream. Let's help him get there.

The name Kali Ma comes from Kalma, a hunter of tombs and eater of the dead, as she was called in Finland, also called the Black Goddess. European "witches" worshipped her in funeral places, for the same reasons, that the Tantric yogis and dakinis worshipped her in cremation grounds, as Smashana-Kali, Lady of the Dead. Former pagans adored her in cemeteries as the Black Mother Earth, where the Roman tombstones invoked her with the phrase Mater genuit, Mother receipt-the Mother bore me, the Mother took me back.

Sometimes Kali, the Destroyer, wore red symbolizing the blood of the life that that she gave and took back: "as She devours all existence, as She chews all things existing with Her fierce teeth, therefore a mass of blood is imagined to be the apparel of the Queen of the Gods at the final dissolution." The gypsies in their worship of Kali, the Goddess of disease, clothed her in red, the proper color of gypsy funerals.

Tantra, being a development of Atharva Vedic and pre-Brahmanical thought, embraced the Hindu gods and goddesses, especially Shiva and Shakti, along the (nondualist Vedic) philosophy that each represents an aspect of the ultimate Param Shiva, or These deities may be worshipped externally (with flowers, incense etc.) but, more importantly, are used as objects of where the practitioner imagines him- or herself to be the deity in question. The ancient devadasi tradition of sacred temple-dance, seen in the contemporary Bharata Natyam is the example of such meditation in movement. The divine love is expressed in Sringara and Bhakti.

All tantra states that there were certain groups of personalities who were not fit for certain practices. Others include the eating of meat (particularly beef and pork) and drinking of alcohol. Fear has also been used as a method to break down conditioning; rites would often take place in a cremation ground amidst decomposing corpses. This, of course, also falls under the prerequisite of the practitioner's nature, in such cases demanding a vir- (heroic) or even devya- (godlike) -bhava (disposition of purity, self-control, suppression of pride, respect to parents and guru and often celibacy).

"The Tantrics explain that the physical license of the worship of Kali is needed for brutish mankind in this evil (Kaliyuga) time. This is because only a few can liberate themselves from the flesh and reach divinity direct. Kalipuja (Kali-worship) gives the brutish man and woman an outlet and an idea of how intoxicating true communion with the divine could be. For this reason, according to the priest, it is not uncommon for mass orgies to be held in the early stages of initiation of even the right-hand worshippers, so that they may get a glimpse of the physical reflection of the true ecstasy which comes with acceptance by Kali."

bomohs catch 12 more spirits

JERTIH, MALAYSUA - Three healers from Terengganu Islamic Foundation (YIT) claim they captured 12 more djinns from the house of Siti Balqis Mohd Nor after she disappeared again on Saturday night.

Her family thought her ordeal was over when two bomoh captured nine djinns on Friday and put them in sealed containers.

Yesterday, however, the 22-year-old, who is the eldest of four children, claimed she was whisked away to a cave about 15km from her home in Kampung Gong Nangka here.

She mysteriously disappeared at 7.30pm, minutes before state religious and information committee chairman Khazan Che Mat, YIT director Kamarul Al Amin Ismail and YIT officials arrived at her home with the healers.

Hundreds of residents searched around the house and at locations that she had been found in previous disappearances but this proved futile.

At 11.30pm, her mother Norizan Said, 47, received an SMS from Siti Balqis, saying that she had been taken to a cave in Bukit Keluang.

Jabi assemblyman Ramlan Ali headed a rescue team to Bukit Keluang but they only found seven men and two women who were meditating (bertapa) inside the cave.

Two hours later, Siti Balqis sent another SMS, saying she had been whisked home but had landed on a rambutan tree.

Siti Balqis was pale and unconscious when rescuers brought her down from the rambutan tree.

The three Islamic medical practitioners said they captured 12 djinns after treating her.

Siti Balqis only regained consciousness at 5am and told her mother she saw Ramlan and other rescuers at Bukit Keluang cave but none of them could hear her calls.

"I even tried to touch Ramlan's wife as she passed by me but she did not see me," she said.

Meanwhile, Khazan said the medical practitioners were sent by the state government to help the family.

Sorry was not able to response to you earlier. There are a lot of different legend versions about the dragon and its nine sons in Chinese folk culture, but the number of the dragon's sons is believed to be a lot more than nine. Pixiu is said to be the ninth prince of the Dragon King, and its staple food is gold, silver and jewelry. It is naturally shining with brilliance and looks far more handsome than other auspicious animals like the three-legged toad. Pixiu was therefore in favor with the Jade Emperor and the Dragon King.

Anyway, eating too much may well lead to bowel disorders. One day, Pixiu relieved the bowels before he could go to the toilet, which angered the Jade Emperor, who gave him a slap on the buttocks. What Matters Most Is Our Motivation

Thai amulet is somehow related to buddhism. Most of the thai amulets are blessed by monks in thailand. Thus, wearing the holy amulets with a good heart and faith is very important. Lacking any 1 of them will lead the wearer to a confused state. Wear a good amulet with a good heart and good faith will lead to the wearer to has a better life from now for sure. Recently, I come by a article who mention about the right motivation. I feel that we should has the right motivation when wearing a amulet. Below is the wonderful Zen story:






A devoted meditator, after years concentrating on a particular mantra, had attained enough insight to begin teaching. The student's humility was far from perfect, but the teachers at the monastery were not worried.

A few years of successful teaching left the meditator with no thoughts about learning from anyone; but upon hearing about a famous hermit living nearby, the opportunity was too exciting to be passed up.

The hermit lived alone on an island at the middle of a lake, so the meditator hired a man with a boat to row across to the island. The meditator was very respectful of the old hermit. As they shared some tea made with herbs the meditator asked him about his spiritual practice. The old man said he had no spiritual practice, except for a mantra which he repeated all the time to himself. The meditator was pleased -- the hermit was using the same mantra he used himself -- but when the hermit spoke the mantra aloud, the meditator was horrified!

"What's wrong?" asked the hermit.

"I don't know what to say. I'm afraid you've wasted your whole life! You are pronouncing the mantra incorrectly!"

"Oh, Dear! That is terrible. How should I say it?"

The meditator gave the correct pronunciation, and the old hermit was very grateful, asking to be left alone so he could get started right away. On the way back across the lake the meditator, now confirmed as an accomplished teacher, was pondering the sad fate of the hermit.

"It's so fortunate that I came along. At least he will have a little time to practice correctly before he dies." Just then, the meditator noticed that the boatman was looking quite shocked, and turned to see the hermit STANDING RESPECTFULLY ON THE WATER, next to the boat.

"Excuse me, please. I hate to bother you, but I've forgotten the correct pronunciation again. Would you please repeat it for me?"

"You obviously don't need it," stammered the meditator; but the old man persisted in his polite request until the meditator relented and told him again the way he thought the mantra should be pronounced.

The old hermit was saying the mantra very carefully, slowly, over and over, as he walked across the surface of the water back to the island . . .

Bomoh whips duo to rid them of evil spirits

A MOTHER and daughter, who suffered from migraine, went to a female bomoh who caned them in a bizarre treatment to rid them of evil spirits.

The bomoh began the treatment by asking the 19-year-old to lie down while she whipped her with a cane until she screamed in pain.

When the mother attempted to stop the beatings, the bomoh started to hit her instead and threatened to kill her for disrupting the treatment, Harian Metro reported. Eventually, the teenager had to be taken to a hospital where the doctor advised them to lodge a police report.

Police detained the bomoh who is in her 50s.

The daily quoted a police source as saying that the bomoh had to be left alone in a lock-up because she went amok and rambled away, frightening the other detainees.

Several police personnel also complained that they encountered ghosts ever since the bomoh was detained on Aug 2.

I am going to share some common question ask by some of the buyers about thai amulet.

Q: If i put the amulet in front the speaker and play the music of the chant, will the amulet\charm power increase?
A: According to the reply of some master, they claim it do not has any effect on the amulet.

Q: Can I kiss while wearing the thailand amulets? And why you say yes? I thought it show disrespect?

A: Cheek kissing is a or social gesture to indicate friendship, perform a greeting to confer congratulations, to comfort someone, or to show respect. It does not necessarily indicate sexual or romantic interest. And it happen very commonly in Europe. So are you trying to say people has to remove their amulet each time they kiss? In Europe, to cheek kiss can be up to 10 times per day. So I think the people in Europe will be busy taking off and put on their thai amulets\charms. But if your kiss is sexually, that lead to sexually activities, then advise to remoeve because I worry you has no time or forget to remove after the kiss.

Q: where can I place my amulet when I am not wearing?

A: somewhere high and in respectable place. Respectable place mean not in bathroom or under the sofa or under the bed where you and your partner perform sex activities.

Q: Can I wear 2 or 4 amulet at a time?
A: So far, all my amulets which I get from the masters has no restrictions on it. Maybe your seller or your master has. There is no right or wrong. In USA, it is normal to own a gun. In singapore, own a gun will lead to dealth penalty. So is owning a gun right or wrong? If you has your own master and a seller who sell you his/her amulet and they has their own restriction, pls do not come and ask me why they has these restrictions.
