put salt in bra to remove bad energy????

Salt in her bra for luck

Norika Fujiwara keeps salt in her bra to boost her luck.

The Japanese actress will take out the salt from her bra and scatter it onto the ground to get rid of the bad vibes whenever she goes.

Fujiwara, the Miss Japan 1992, who believes in feng shui, will consult a master on everything related to her including ways to block off the “bad things”.

She is so into it that she would consult the feng shui master on her future and things she has to ward off almost everyday over the past years.

Even before she starts filming, Fujiwara would find a good spot and pray for the film to be a hit.

Japanese Cyzo magazine reported that Fujiwara was found to be a little neurotic recently due to the bad response of her new drama.

While filming the series, she was seen taking out some salt from her bra and scattering it.

Fujiwara started to believe in feng shui after it helped cure her insomnia following the advice of a feng shui master who had told her to put 10g of salt at the four corners of her room.

Since then, feng shui has become a major part of her life. She even changed the colour of her kitchen to yellow and uses only gold doorknobs.

She also took a master’s advice to wear a pentagon-shape wedding ring.

But ironically, feng shui was also one of the reasons that caused Fujiwara and her comedian husband Tomonori Jinnai to divorce.

It was said the couple had been involved in numerous arguments after Jinnar could no longer stand his wife’s “feng shui philosopy”.

Aniamal Sacrifices

At least 15,000 buffalo and "countless" goats and birds were sacrificed in a temple in southern Nepal, organizers said Wednesday, a ritual billed as the single biggest animal slaughter on earth. Hindus in Nepal routinely offer animals for sacrifice to appease deities, especially power goddesses, for good luck and prosperity.

Villagers bringing goats to the slaughter field.

KATHMANDU, Oct 4: Animal welfare campaigners have initiated a coalition with the Indian NGOs and networks of animal rights activists, including Hindu and Buddhist leaders, especially from the Indian state of Bihar, for a joint action to halt animal sacrifices at the the Gadhimai festival in Bariyarpur, Bara district. The festival falls on November 24 this year.

During the festival each year, over 350,000 animals are slaughtered as sacrifice to the deity Gadhimai.

“The Gadhi Mai fair has a cross-border linkage which dates back many years. Since it is participated by Indian people as well, we are initiating a joint-campaign against this barbaric fair,” Pramoda Shah of Animal Nepal, a local NGO, told Republica.

Many Indian nationals travel to attend this festival and offer animal sacrifice.

“It is ironical that such practices have been stopped in India, but in our own Land of Buddha, people are taking to violence in such cold-blooded manner in the name of religion,” Dr Govinda Tandon, a culture expert and former member of the Pashupati Area Development Trust said.

He added, “The festival is baseless too as it started when a priest dreamt of the Goddess asking for sacrifice.”

In the carnival, which is observed every five years, over 350,000 animals, mainly buffalos, piglets, chickens, rats, goats, baby goats, roosters, and pigeons, are to be sacrificed to please the deity Gadhimai.

The first day of the festival, which sees the largest animal sacrifice in the world, is panchbali when five black goats are sacrificed followed by killing of seven buffaloes. But the festival takes a worse turn when some 250 local men, who officiate sacrifices, ruthlessly take to slaughtering of the animals.

“The men are made to consume alcohol before and are let loose to hack the animals in one of the worst form of animal killings,” Shah said, adding, “Superstition is perpetuating violence in Nepal and it is difficult to counteract, especially in bringing about a behavioral change in the educated ones.”

Psychiatrists have long pointed at the health hazard caused to the humans by such unorganized killings and the mental trauma/illness caused by it. Those locals who have been involved in the sacrifice over the years are said to be suffering from acute form of mental disorder.

“One man had to be permanently tied by a rope as he started murdering people. In the people he saw animal images,” Dr Tandon said.

The activists believe that such a cross-border campaign will draw the attention of the international community toward such inhumane treatment meted out to the innocent animals. However, they also feel that the campaign may have an adverse impact on the country´s tourism.

“The festival has invited international criticism and is portraying Nepal in bad light. If activists make an issue of the fair it will have an adverse impact on tourism,” Shah said.

The organizing committee of the carnival has already begun disseminating information about the ´celebrations´. The committee is organizing the event on a hefty budget.

A number of religious groups in Nepal are opposing the mass sacrifice. The campaign will also be joined by the famous ´Buddha boy´ of Nepal, Ram Bahadur Bomjon. “He will be visiting the temple to bless the animals as a symbolic protest,” Lucia de Vries of the Animal Nepal said.

The animal rights activists are also protesting a similar festival in Khokhana, Lalitpur. In one fair in Khokhana, a baby goat is thrown into a pond and some local men tear the goat to death. The one who kills it and comes out victorious is then named a ´hero´.

Lord Buddha and The Brahmin

Here is a bit of Buddhist philosophy which will reduce unnecessary conflicts, minor
unintentional or intentional transgression, provocation, misrepresentation, spreading of
falsehood, rumours and outright provocation and be at peace with yourself.
The fundamental is to be AWARE. If it is true accept it, if it is negative be aware and correct, if untrue ignore it.

Lord Buddha was sitting under a banyan tree. One day, a furious
Brahman came to him and started abusing him.

The Brahman thought that Lord Buddha would reciprocate in the
same manner, but to his utter surprise, there was not the slightest
change in the expression on his face.

Now, the Brahman became more furious. He hurled more and more
abuses at Buddha. However, Lord Buddha was completely unmoved.
Actually there was a look of compassion on his face. Ultimately the
Brahman was tired of abusing him.

He asked, "I have been abusing you, but why are you not angry at all ?"

Lord Buddha calmly replied, "My dear brother, I have not accepted a
single abuse from you."

"But you heard all of them, didn't you?" The Brahman argued
half-heartedly.

Buddha said, "I do not need the abuses, so why should I even hear them?"

Now the Brahman was even more puzzled. He could not understand the
calm reply from Lord Buddha.

Looking at his disturbed face, Buddha further explained, "All those
abuses remain with you."

"It cannot be possible. I have hurled all of them at you," the Brahmin
persisted.

Buddha calmly repeated his reply, "But I have not accepted even a
single abuse from you ! Dear brother, suppose you give some coins to
somebody, and if he does not accept them, with whom will those coins
remain?"

The Brahman replied, "If I have given the coins and not needed by
someone, then naturally they would remain with me."

With a meaningful smile on his face, Buddha said, "Now you are right.
The same has happened with your abuses. You came here and hurled
abuses at me, but I have not accepted a single abuse from you. Hence,
all those abuses remain with you only. So there is no reason to be angry
with you."

The Brahman remained speechless. He was ashamed of his behavior and
begged for Buddha's forgiveness.

Cause more harm than help!!!

Life is not a bed of roses. But when problem, hopefully we can really receive beneficial help. But sadly, not all the time we will receive beneficial help.

Below is a sad story:

SURIN: Sometimes, a cure can be worse than the illness. This was certainly the case for one young man who went to the local temple to perform a ceremony to ward off bad luck, but ended up dying after drinking “blessed water” prepared by the temple abbot.

Twenty-three year old Bunyang Khreuaniam of Khwao Sinarin District on September 30 told his mother that had been warned by someone trained in the arts of black magic that he was in for some bad luck.

Concerned that some wayward spirits might target her son, she took him to Wat Beung Wang Nam Yen to see the abbot about performing a ceremony to ward off any potential misfortune.

The abbot, 56-year-old Luang Ta Yuan, told Mr Bunyang to go home and fast for two days without food or water, then come back for a ritual ceremony.

On October 2, Mr Bunyang duly returned to the temple with his mother, Pleun Khreuaniam, and three other relatives.

Luang Ta Yuan instructed Bunyang’s relatives to fetch some blessed water from the temple that he had prepared beforehand and pour it into a bat (monk’s bowl) and give it to Bunyang to drink.

Perhaps as a sign of its potency, after swallowing the elixir Bunyang promptly vomited. However, Luang Ta Yuan told him to keep drinking until he had downed, and brought back up, three whole bowlfuls.

After Bunyang was done with his cyclical consumption, abbot’s assistant Thiphon Khiandee, 56, brought a Krating Daeng (local version of Red Bull) bottle filled with oil and began to rub it on Bunyang’s body.

As she was rubbing him down, however, he began to spasm violently and lost consciousness.

Worried that something was awry, the onlookers called for help. But by the time help arrived, Bunyang was dead.

After questioning all parties, police took some of the blessed water for analysis. From sniffing the concoction, police said they could smell petrol but didn’t know what else the mixture contained.

Dr Wiriya Laobanthao said that Bunyang probably died from drinking too much of the water, but added that he would have to wait for the results of the autopsy before he could draw any firm conclusions.

Police said they had yet to charge any person with a crime.

I have come along to this article, seem interesting. Enjoy reading

China Press reported that a handful of Indonesian maids practised witchcraft by contaminating meals and drinks with their menstrual blood and urine, done in the hope of building a closer rapport with their employers.

They believed that their ties with their employers would be enhanced once their bosses consumed the contaminated drinks, especially those mixed with their menstrual blood.

Religious scholar Wang Chen Fa said such a practice was common in Indonesia as it was deemed "powerful" and harmless to the health.

Carrot, egg or coffee

After i has start my blog, I am happy that there are quite a numbers of readers. Well, some get amulets from me, their life improve. Some, just read, and bookmark. Some, after reading and move on. We can only live once, so make full use of what we have. Do more good and when time is up, we has to move on. I have come upon this very interesting article, it has motives me and my Friends. Today, i wish to share with you, hopefully can benefit those readers who have come upon my blog.
Good Luck!

Carrots, Eggs & Coffee

Someone I work with sent me this. I don’t know who wrote it. At the risk of sounding like a big girl … I kinda like it…

A carrot, an egg, and a cup of coffee...You will never look at a cup of coffee the same way again.

A young woman went to her mother and told her about her life and how things were so hard for her. She did not know how she was going to make it and wanted to give up. She was tired of fighting and struggling. It seemed as one problem was solved, a new one arose.

Her mother took her to the kitchen. She filled three pots with water and placed each on a high fire. Soon the pots came to boil. In the first she placed carrots, in the second she placed eggs, and in the last she placed ground coffee beans. She let them sit and boil; without saying a word. In about twenty minutes she turned off the burners. She fished the carrots out and placed them in a bowl. She pulled the eggs out and placed them in a bowl. Then she ladled the coffee out and placed it in a bowl.

Turning to her daughter, she asked, ' Tell me what you see.'

'Carrots, eggs, and coffee,' she replied.

Her mother brought her closer and asked her to feel the carrots. She did and noted that they were soft. The mother then asked the daughter to take an egg and break it. After pulling off the shell, she observed the hard boiled egg.

Finally, the mother asked the daughter to sip the coffee. The daughter smiled as she tasted its rich aroma. The daughter then asked, 'What does it mean, mother?'

Her mother explained that each of these objects had faced the same adversity: boiling water.

Each reacted differently. The carrot went in strong, hard, and unrelenting. However, after being subjected to the boiling water, it softened and became weak. The egg had been fragile. Its thin outer shell had protected its liquid interior, but after sitting through the boiling water, its inside became hardened. The ground coffee beans were unique, however. After they were in the boiling water, they had changed the water.

'Which are you?' she asked her daughter. 'When adversity knocks on your door, how do you respond? Are you a carrot, an egg or a coffee bean?

Think of this: Which am I?

Am I the carrot that seems strong, but with pain and adversity do I wilt and become soft and lose my strength?

Am I the egg that starts with a malleable heart, but changes with the heat? Did I have a fluid spirit, but after a death, a breakup, a financial hardship or some other trial, have I become hardened and stiff? Does my shell look the same, but on the inside am I bitter and tough with
a stiff spirit and hardened heart?

Or am I like the coffee bean? The bean actually changes the hot water, the very circumstance
that brings the pain. When the water gets hot, it releases the fragrance and flavor. If you are like the bean, when things are at their worst, you get better and change the situation around you.

When the hour is the darkest and trials are their greatest do you elevate yourself to another level? How do you handle adversity? Are you a carrot, an egg or a coffee bean?

May you have enough happiness to make you sweet, enough trials to make you strong, enough sorrow to keep you human and enough hope to make you happy.

The happiest of people don't necessarily have the best of everything; they just make the most of everything that comes along their way. The brightest future will always be based on a forgotten past; you can't go forward in life until you let go of your past failures and heartaches.

When you were born, you were crying and everyone around you was smiling.

Live your life so at the end, you're the one who is smiling and everyone around you is crying.

Evil in mind or Evil in brain?

In religion, we are often teach that evil or though are from our mind or attitude. I have come upon this interesting article. Enjoy reading.

Humans face moral dilemmas, from fleeting everyday decisions to life-or-death questions.

Should I give up my seat on the train for a frail, elderly person? Do I snatch a cab from another who has been waiting longer just because I have a pressing matter to attend to?

Should I have an affair?

If there are two similar, competing organ recipients, which one deserves that second shot at life more?

Morality is a murky soup of nature versus nurture, it seems.

Some scientists believe that our moral compass is hardwired into our brains while others believe that our surroundings and people close to us help shape our thoughts and actions.

While the experts have their disagreements on this subject, they concur on this: The tussle between doing good or evil resides in the brain.

Dr Melanie Storry Chan, a consultant psychologist at The Counselling Place, said: 'Moral decisions reside in the ventromedial prefrontal cortex (VMFC).

'This area of the brain is responsible for highly complex functioning such as empathy and the ability to make moral judgments.'

The VMFC in an adult is the size of a large plum and is found about 5cm behind a person's forehead.

The case of Phineas Gage, a railway construction foreman in Vermont in the United States, famously illustrates how the VMFC affects one's moral bearings.

In an accident on Sept 13, 1848, a steel rod entered the 25-year-old's left cheek bone and exited through the top of his head.

Although he later recovered, his personality was forever altered as most of the frontal cortex of his brain was destroyed.

Dr Storry Chan said: 'Before the brain injury, Gage was considered a good worker, popular and efficient.

'But after that, he was angry, used the grossest profanities, became impatient and was 'no longer Gage'.'

Indeed, a 2007 American study of patients with ventromedial injuries and those without such injuries found that the VMFC is key to making a moral call.

Dr James Khoo, a consultant neurosurgeon at Neurological Surgery, gave the example of a brain that is damaged by dementia.

'I see a change in people who develop dementia. They swear more, may steal things or do things they previously knew were bad,' he said.

The ventromedial area is connected to other regions like the brain stem, responsible for bodily functions like breathing and heart rate; and the amygdala, important for perceiving and reacting to emotional or affective behaviour and feelings like fear and anger.

It thus acts as a central system, collating information from these various brain regions to come up with an appropriate social response. Damage to this area disrupts or severs this vital function.

Another major area also comes into play in moral decisions - the dorsolateral prefrontal cortex which approaches situations in a strictly cost-benefit analysis way.

A study last year by the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana and the California Institute of Technology found that our moral decisions are also affected by how much weight our brain places on fairness.

Just last month, a study published in the scientific journal PNAS found that individuals who behave dishonestly exhibit increased activity in parts of the prefrontal cortex, whether they chose to behave dishonestly or not.

So, it looks like issues of morality are parsed and processed in the brain. However, researchers do not know if the parameters within which the brain works are a matter of biology or the environment.

Dr Khoo believes that it is a canny mix of evolutionary biology and socio-environmental factors.

He said: 'Most humans have a sense of what's right or wrong. From an evolutionary perspective, what's good for the tribe is good. We act on what we think protects our group.

'But how we've been brought up, how we think, parental teaching, religion and all that come into play.'

Indeed, most children are able to differentiate between right and wrong by the time they go to pre-school or nursery school.

Moral behaviour is often learnt first via concrete rules set by authority figures like parents or teachers, and then by understanding abstract concepts about morality.

Dr Storry Chan said: 'We tend to first tell the child something like 'It is not nice and against the rules to take your friend's toys. I will punish you if you do that again'.

'As the child grows older and begins to think more abstractly, we can tell the child 'Your friend will be angry if you take his things and you will feel bad for doing it'.'

It has been observed that, in making moral decisions, boys focus on 'justice' while girls tend to be more concerned about maintaining relationships and will change the activity rather than argue or fight.

Dr Khoo suggested that exposure to morally upright people can help strengthen the brain mechanisms which deal with moral decisions.

He said: 'I don't think people are born to do good or bad. They're influenced by their early childhood and own ways of thinking.

'Mother Teresa probably had poor but good parents. She was exposed to religion in her early life so she decided to dedicate her life to doing good. People do stumble on such things in an experiential way.'

The late Mother Teresa was born in Albania in 1910 to Nikola and Drane Bojaxhiu. Her father Nikola died when she was eight, leaving the family financially poor but Drane raised the children lovingly, influencing Mother Teresa's character and later vocation.

How willing are we to help others? We seem to be more compelled to help those around us.

Dr Storry Chan explained it thus: 'Choosing to help people near us is a function of many factors, for example, cultural, governmental and proximity. It is easier to remember to help someone you see every day rather than someone you see on TV once a fortnight.

'Needy people close to us are able to 'push our emotional buttons' much more effectively than those far away, leading to our greater desire to help those closest.'

As for the 'pay-offs' in doing good, these come in positive things like an increased sense of satisfaction with life, higher levels of self-esteem and a slight reduction of heart rate and blood pressure.

The converse can happen if we choose to do something bad.

People who have done wrong things often report feelings of low self-worth, guilt and anxiety. They may get symptoms like difficulty in sleeping, nervousness or heightened feelings of depression and anxiety.

Dr Storry Chan said: 'However, the impact on the person after choosing to do something 'bad' depends on how much the behaviour deviates from his own moral values.

'For example, a person who does something considered amoral or completely against his morals will have a higher rate of negative experiences than if he does something he can justify or excuse.'

She added that guilt is a healthy, natural emotion which reflects a conflict between our actions and our moral compass.

Asked how a person who has committed a bad deed can address his guilt, Dr Storry Chan said: 'You would look at what's the reason for the behaviour, the damage done.

'Also, whether there are avenues for restitution or apologies or penance, alternative choices if put in similar situations in the future, seeking forgiveness from others and then seeking self-forgiveness.'

NEVER GIVE UP ON LIFE!!!!!!

TODAY, I WOULD LIKE TO SHARE THIS BEAUTIFUL STORY WHICH I READ ONLINE.

THIS STORY IS ABOUT A YOUNG MYANMAR BOY WHOSE FACE IS BURN BADLY YET, HE ACCEPT HIS LIFE WITH A BIG SMILE. IT SET A ENCOURAGE FOR US TO ACCEPT SETBACK WITH GREAT COURAGE.

caption:Though Myo Wai Kyaw has scars on his face even after skin grafting, he takes things in his stride and faces challenges with a big smile.

This young 13-year-old Myo Wai Kyaw is a very studious child who is always at the top of his class. Because of the cyclone, his studies had been delayed.

The boy was eager to catch up on his studies and lit an oil lamp to study in a night in early July. Accidentally bumped into the oil lamp above him when he stood up, the hot oil spilt over his head and face …

Myo Wai Kyaw kneeled and bowed to his parents to pay respect and express gratitude towards their unconditional love and care.

Meet my “relatives”

On Aug 15 morning, Myo Wai Kyaw waited earnestly by the window. Upon seeing Lin, two other Tzu Chi volunteers and an interpreter approaching, the boy turned to his mother saying, “Mom, our relatives are here!”

Everyone was in high spirits as it was the day Myo Wai Kyaw was going to be discharged and he would be going home after a month’s long stay at the hospital. Couldn’t wait for the time to come, the family had packed their belongings into two big bags and ready to go.

Taiwanese volunteer Lin had made this special trip to give her well wishes to Myo Wai Kyaw. Together with fellow Tzu Chi volunteers, she’s going to send him home personally.

When the boy heard that, he was overwhelmed and said softly to Lin, “I feel so happy!”

The road home was rugged. The group has to walk on foot even after riding a car and a jeep. But it was nothing for Myo Wai Kyaw and his parents, as they could not wait to go home after being away from home for over a month.

A tragedy

One night in early July 2008, while Myo Wai Kyaw was studying at home trying to catch up with his studies lagged behind by the May cyclone, he accidentally knocked down the oil lamp when he stood up. The hot oil spilt over his head and face, severely scalding over 20% of his body.

As his family is poor and lives in Kungyangon which is a fair distance from Yangon, Myanmar’s capital, his parents could only take him to be treated at a small local hospital.

It was July 6. It so happened that Tzu Chi volunteers had to send a gentleman to the local hospital in Kungyangon and went back to visit him again later that day that they discovered there was a severely scalded child in the bed next to this gentleman.

Myo Wai Kyaw’s skin has begun to fester. Seeing his condition, the volunteers encouraged and convinced his parents to allow them to help him transfer to a better equipped hospital. That was how the boy was brought to the best hospital in Yangon.

During the month long stay in hospital, Myo Wai Kyaw had surgery and his skin grafted. His condition had begun to stabilize.

Every 3 to 4 days, volunteers came to visit him and provide him with support. Lin, especially, treated the boy like her own child. Lin not only went to see him often, but also encouraged him to face life with bravery and urged him to study well. She also spent time teaching the boy to read and write.

Gradually, Myo Wai Kyaw’s skin recovered and he could start walking. He has a scar on the right side of his face while his right ear is disfigured. However, the love and concern from everyone has helped ease his pain. Besides his parents, Lin seems to be the next closest kin to Myo Wai Kyaw.

It’s good to be home!

The way home was rugged. It took five hours to reach Taw Kuu Village from the Yangon Hospital. Along the way, besides travelling by car, they also rode a jeep and had to walk for a distance; some volunteers found it difficult throughout the whole journey. However, it was not so for Myo Wai Kyaw and his parents. They have been longing to go back after being away from home for over a month.

During the hospital stay, Myo Wai Kyaw’s parents were constantly by his bedside caring for him. When they saw that their son was beginning to recover and that he could walk on his own, they felt much more at ease. Myo Wai Kyaw’s mum still has a lingering fear when she recalled the day her son was sent to the hospital. “He was badly burned, the journey was rough and when the car jolted, he screamed in pain. I thought he was not going to make it. I was in despair. But Tzu Chi saved his life.”

When volunteers asked Myo Wai Kyaw if he was in severe pain at that time, he lit up his big eyes and said that his pain had already been forgotten. What a brave boy! We thought. He remembers only the good things.

Upon reaching home, many people including close relatives and friends were there to welcome him. Myo Wai Kyaw was ecstatic to see all the people. His little brother even gave him a bear hug. Myo Wai Kyaw politely and with much gratitude said “kay zu tin ba tal” (‘thank you’ in Burmese) to everyone. He kneeled and bowed to his parents for their unconditional love and care, not forgetting the volunteers.

“Amitabha, Grand-master. Thank you all, Tzu Chi uncles and aunties. No matter which day, which week, or which month of the year it is, our door will always be open to you. Please come back and visit us sometime.” said the boy in Burmese with his palms folded in front of his chest.

”I am deeply gratified towards Master Chen Yen and the Tzu Chi uncles and aunties. Our home is forever open and we will always welcome you anytime.”

Immediately after saying that, the boy ran to Lin and gave her a big hug. Lin urged Myo Wai Kyaw sincerely: “Don’t you ever look down on yourself because of how you look; you have to be grateful that you have a pair of ears to hear and a pair of eyes to see. Furthermore, you have a pair of hands that you can write with. Treasure what you have! People all over the world will send their wishes to you through the Da Ai Satellite TV.”

Agreeing, the boy nodded with a big, bright smile. His parents felt deep gratitude towards Tzu Chi for giving their child a new lease of life. His mother promised she would become a Tzu Chi volunteer and would help those in need.

In fact, during the hospital stay, Myo Wai Kyaw’s mum and himself have begun to practice the way of Tzu Chi. When they heard about a little girl wanting a small radio, Myo Wai Kyaw immediately took out all his allowances and with the help of the little girl’s grandma, they bought her a small radio.

Although the boy had met with unfortunate events in life, he took it in his stride. He chose to face the inevitable with his bright eyes and pure smile. From this young and brave boy, the volunteers have indeed learned to be optimistic and contented, also to never give up on life easily.

I hope by sharing this story, can help those people who are facing problems now to face it bravely and never to give up in life.

Pray hard to get the guidance and patience to endure the impermanence.

Buddha Bless.
