Some monks also have the title of Ajarn (a very respectful title for a teacher)

Enpowerment
There are many ways where get blessing from masters. Today, i will introduce one of the unique and rare methods which are being used.

There is a popular display now on a seven-year world tour -- a display of relics, physical remains, it is said, of the Buddha and other great Buddhist teachers. The tradition is that when a spiritually pure Buddhist master is cremated, his remains can include not only bone fragments but tiny pearl-like beads, called ringsel, which are believed to emit spiritual power and even to multiply. In Washington, we talked about these mysteries with Victoria Ewart, the manager of the Heart Shrine Relic Tour.
(The Heart Shrine Relic Tour): These relics have come from masters around the world, starting with the Buddha and other Buddhist practitioners after his time. And the relics are produced because the master has spiritual realizations. So when the body is cremated, then these ringsel -- relics -- are found among the ashes.
So this means that when the Buddha was cremated two and a half thousand years ago, these relics were left behind. So they're not pieces of bones. They're actually manifestations of the realizations of the Buddha and other masters. And the idea is that, when you come into contact with these ringsel, you automatically create happiness, or virtue, because of the power of the holy object
The ringsel multiply, given the right conditions. You can see from the photograph, which was taken in June 2001. And a month later, I looked inside the container, and I saw that there were three very small new relics there. So that means it's an interactive process.
So often people say to me, "How do you know that these relics are real? You know, how can you tell these come from the Buddha?" And the answer is that we don't. But we do have a tradition of these relics being passed down from master to student. And we ask the master in the temple -- whether he's Vietnamese, Chinese, Tibetan, whatever -- we ask him or her to bless each person that wishes to receive a blessing. They come forward, they make a bow, and then they receive the blessing.
He will place the relics on top of the crown of your head. And the reason that he does that is there is actually a physical energetic effect of being blessed on top of the head. It is said to be a healing or a purification of your own body.
The purpose of the Heart Shrine Relic Tour is to bring people into their heart. So by coming into contact with the relics, we are inspired to feel the quality of lovingkindness. Even people who aren't Buddhists, they cry or they have moving experiences or they have a vision. Regardless of any labels of "Buddhism" or "Buddha," people are responding all over.

Ghost and spirits in thailand
spirits and ghosts live almost everywhere in Thailand. Most large trees are said to have a ghost or spirit living inside of it and old trees are held in particular respect. The favourite place for female ghosts to live is in a banana grove. There are many species of banana plants in Thailand, but a 'tani' banana grove is the preferred haunting place.
Most Thais wear one amulet or more. Amulets are medallions that both men and women wear around their necks and which they believe will protect them from harm or provide them with other forms of assistance. A monk might tell you that the amulet is worn only as a reminder of buddha Teachings, not for protection Different amulets have different powers. Some help the wearer attract women while others offer protection against weapons. All amulets offer well-being to the wearer and help keep bad spirits away. Most amulets are given away at temples but there are some amulets which, for a variety of reasons, become very expensive over time. The reasons for this can range from simple popularity to the belief that certain amulets have very strong powers.
There are many tattooed men. Tattoos are often religious passages or religious symbols that offer protection to the wearer. The more superstitious the person, the more tattoos they are apt to have. The properties of tattoos are believed to be similar to those of amulets in the sense that they can offer protection from harm and can been seen as attractive. Tattoos have more recently become modern fashion for some of the men and women who wear them.
Seen and unseen forces operate in daily Thai life. Flowers, incense, or food is placed in front of shops, on the bows of boats, in front of buddhist icons and spirit houses. Brightly-coloured ribbon is wrapped around trees or other objects. These are all offerings to the spirits that reside there. A cement pole near my house receives many gifts. There have been too many accidents at this pole and local residents are trying to placate its bad spirit. Keep your eyes open for these offerings when in Thailand and you will be amazed at how many you see.

'Yan' is the drawing of religious mystical symbols to protect the area from ghosts and bad spirits. Most automobiles, taxis, and busses are adorned with 'yan' and amulets to ensure safe trips. 'Yan' is also painted on the doors of houses to keep unwanted and unseen visitors outside.
Antiques are something that foreigners constantly seek out in Thailand. I have discovered that very often, Thai people absolutely do not want to possess objects that belong to a deceased person for fear of having the previous owner's ghost attached to the object. "Oh! Look at that beautiful desk! It would look wonderful in my living room!" my friend exclaimed at an antique shop to her Thai companion. "I would never buy that," he answered. "I would think of the person who had to work at that desk everyday. I would wonder if they were happy then and if they are happy now."
Asking around about ghosts provided the stories that follow.
Puthamonton is a town famous for its haunted bamboo grove. This bamboo grove is on the grounds of the Buddha Park so many monks reside and meditate there. Recently a novice monk became possessed by a ghost and was exorcised by other monks. Reports in Thai newspapers make this common knowledge to most people.
Supanburi is the home to a famous Thai country music singer Phum Phuang who died about eight years ago. When the villagers saw her ghost walking around they decided to build a shrine for her. This shrine now draws hundreds of people who try to receive winning lottery numbers from the deceased.
A cup filled with bamboo sticks with numbers written on them is shaken until a lucky stick falls to the ground. As the Thai national lottery occurs on the 1st and 16th of every month, this shrine is quite active in the days before the drawing. Pictures of this event were recently on the front page of a local Thai newspaper.
Fortune-tellers, mediums, and psychics get a lot of business in Thailand. They are not only consulted for winning lottery numbers, but also auspicious dates on which to conduct an event, or for advice in general life and love decisions.
A young couple who lived north of Ayutthaya recently committed suicide by hanging themselves. The woman was six months pregnant. A letter from the wife requested that the couple be cremated together. When the family tried to arrange this, two local temples refused to do so. Everyone was terrified that the couple would rise from the dead. They feared it was the ghost of Naan Naak returning again. A surgeon was called in and the baby was removed from the mother before the cremation could take place.

Tiger Woods on being a dad and Buddhism
Los Angeles, USA -- Golf is famed as a frustrating sport but world number one Tiger Woods has found striking the right balance between family and work to be every bit as challenging.
"This morning Sam was crying when I left. That is only going to get harder, especially when they start talking, when they get in school," he said, adding that golfers find it particularly tough to carry out their roles as fathers.
"A lot of guys, early on in their child's development, try to take them on the road with them so they can be a part of that development - but once they are in school it is a whole different story then," he said.
While winning seven tournaments in succession through a six-month unbeaten streak, Woods has also been changing his daily routine to allow him the maximum possible time with his daughter Sam and Swedish wife Elin.
"I try and get my workouts in before Sam or Elin gets up, I go to the gym really early in the morning and get my lifting in and get my cardio done and come back and have breakfast with them.
"Then maybe a little walk and then right when Sam takes a nap I can go out and practice. I don't want to miss anything, she changes every day," he says.
Woods relishes talking about his daughter but confesses he has been surprised by fatherhood.
"I never thought that I would feel this way. You hear parents say it all the time, but you really don't know until you actually go through it," he said.
"I can't imagine missing anything. When we go on the road we have Skype so I will talk to her and see her and...I don't know how guys did it in the past, technology certainly helps."
The challenge of organising his life, which also includes commercial commitments to sponsors such as Gillette, hasn't weakened his desire for a larger family.
"I want to be around as much as I can at home and especially since we are going to have more kids it is going to be even more difficult down the road," he says.
Missing from Woods's description of his daily routine is meditation - learnt from his Buddhist mother and one element of a religion that shapes much of his attitude to life.
"I practice meditation - that is something that I do, that my mum taught me over the years. We also have a thing we do every year, where we go to temple together," he said.
"In the Buddhist religion you have to work for it yourself, internally, in order to achieve anything in life and set up the next life. It is all about what you do and you get out of it what you put into it.
"So you are going to have to work your butt off in every aspect of your life.
"That is one of the things that people see in what I do on the golf course but that is just one small facet of my life - I am always continuing to work," said Woods who credits his late father Earl and Thai mother Kultida for his winning combination of aggression and control.
"If you look at my parents - my Dad was a former special forces, he was a pretty tough guy, very focused but I have to say the more competitive one was my mum," he added.
"You start talking to her and you will see where I get my fire and passion from - it is from my mum - I get my calmness from my Dad," he said.
There are no signs that his mother is about to let that passion cool - Woods said she remains animated when watching him play.
"She still lives and dies over every shot. I just say 'Mum, relax, I know what I am doing.' She says to me - 'you'll know what I am talking about when Sam gets older'"

I wanted to give you feedback about the Cat and Mouse Takrut I bought from you about one month ago. I can see the positive effects very clearly. For example firstly people at work generally woman behave positively even my boss and other people as well. black magic practise in western countries?????
i have find this very interesting articles in the news. Human skulls are being import to western countries!!!!! Usually, in Asia like Cambodia or Thailand, these skull are being search by person (master) to do magic. Well, look like (personal view) there are some master who practise in western countries too....

New home for Buddha statute make of gold
BANGKOK, Thailand -- It's a ho-hum temple in the midst of Chinatown, one of the most popular draws for tourists visiting Thailand's bustling capital city, and many visitors walk straight past it. Yet the temple contains one of the city's most beautiful attractions – a maginficent golden Buddha worth about $14 million. he story goes like this: Sometime in the late 1700s, a large number of Buddha images were brought to Bangkok from the provinces of the newly united kingdom of Siam. One – a dirty plaster Buddha statue about three metres tall – ended up in a seldom-visited temple near the Chao Phraya River.
One day in 1955, as it was being moved, the statue slipped from its ropes and crashed to the ground, cracking the plaster.
Horrified workers noticed a brilliant yellow glow from inside and realized that it was gold — 5 1/2 tons of it.
Scholars have dated the image – now stripped of its plaster covering – to the 12th or 13th century, and believe that it was disguised to hide it from invading Burmese armies and eventually forgotten.
Foreigners can barely pronounce its full name – Phra Buddha Maha Suwan Patimakorn – so most people simply call it `The Golden Buddha.'
Long housed in a small, dusty chapel with room for maybe a dozen kneeling worshippers, the image is set to move later this year into a purpose-built temple that will tower over the old one. The project has been in the works for a while.
"Historic or religious sites in Thailand are registered as national treasures by the Fine Arts Department," said a project spokesperson. "Even small modifications are prohibited without a lengthy assessment process, which is why it's taken such a long time for the temple to get an upgrade."
The 600-million baht ($18.7 million Cdn.) brick-and-marble hall will be 60 metres tall with ornate flourishes particular to Thai architectural design. It will be topped with a seven-tiered metal chatra (a ceremonial umbrella-type structure which represents either enlightenment, royalty or nothing at all, depending on whom you ask). The statue of Buddha will be housed on the fourth and top floor, while the rest will be used for religious activities, a community museum and parking.
Many guidebooks, websites and Bangkok's infamous taxi and tuk-tuk drivers say that the statue is made of solid gold, and the Guinness Book of World Records certifies it as `The World's Largest Gold Buddha." But the truth is a bit less fantastic.
"Well, it's true the image is undeniably stunning," says the project spokesman, "but the only part of it that is truly 100 per cent gold is the flame-like halo on top of the Buddha's head.
However, the body was cast in an alloy with a very high gold percentage, as pure gold is too malleable even for jewellery – a large, heavy statue like this would be out of the question."
The glittering image is a remarkable sight, with its narrow eyes staring down on you. Its slender waist, long earlobes and slightly protruding belly button are all hallmarks of the Sukhothai style, widely considered to be the most graceful and refined example of Thai art and sculpture.
The statue sits in the "subduing the Mara" posture – cross-legged, left hand palm-up on lap, the fingers of the right hand lightly brushing the ground. This posture represents steadfastness, loyalty and enlightenment.
Fittingly, the temple built to house one of Thailand's most revered icons will open on the same day that the country celebrates their most revered leader – Dec. 5, 2008 will mark the 81st birthday of Thai King Bhumibol Adulyadej.
Celebrations will be large and memorable – just like the new temple.

One Madam Lim, who provided the chart to the newspaper, told the paper: "My friend followed the chart, and bore a baby boy when she conceived at the lunar age of 30 during the first lunar month."
The chart had been discovered in the tomb of a Chinese royalty in Beijing, China, and dates back to at least 700 years ago, and has been re-drawn by Chinese scientists.
Results are said to be 99 per cent accurate.

In one study, 72 percent of the 153 participants correctly identified the sexual attitudes of a group of men and women in their 20s after being shown photographs or facial images.
Published in the journal "Evolution and Human Behaviour", the research also showed that women who were open to short-term sexual relationships were usually seen as more attractive.
They tended to have wide eyes and large lips, such as the actress Angelina Jolie.
Women were usually interested in men who appeared to be more likely to want a long-term relationship.
The research tended to confirm earlier findings which found that women see masculine men as more likely to be unfaithful and worse at parenting.
The men and women also tended to opt for complete opposites.

| As the Thai New Year approaches next month, Buddhist monks like Phramaha Somgid from Wat Ratchabophit, a temple near Bangkok's Grand Palace, can't be busier. There are paths to sweep, pavilions to polish, incense to purchase and the daily rhythm of alms-seeking, prayer and sutra study to keep up. The lead up to the New Year celebrations from April 13 to 15 also sees Thais making their way around Bangkok's more than 880 Buddhist temples, called wats, to pray for good fortune.
Especially busy are the nine so-called "magic" ones that are said to bestow unique powers to win friends, get rich, be brave and so on. The monk Somgid explains that nine is an auspicious number for Buddhists and its sound is similar to the Thai word for progress. Devotees say it's most effective to visit all the nine wats in a single day, although even visiting only one or two can bring good fortune too. A short taxi ride from Wat Ratchabophit to the east bank of Chao Praya River brings me to Wat Phrachetuphon Wimonmangkhalaram, or "Wat Pho" . Thais believe that paying respects at its altar can bring happiness and the promise of a peaceful life. Many tourists go there to see the 46m gilded reclining Buddha. It is often crowded at the statue's enormous feet, which is inlaid with mother-of-pearl and bears the inscriptions of the 108 auspicious characteristics of Buddha. Next, I made for the Wat Phra Kaeo, located in the outer west section of the nearby Grand Palace. Known as the Temple of the Emerald Buddha, the stone statue is Thailand's most sacred Buddha image. The Thais believe that it bestows wealth and prosperity on those who worship it. A short ferry ride across the Chao Praya from the Grand Palace is Wat Arun, the Temple of Dawn. Though a much older temple, it too is said to have the power to grant prosperity. A short time later, I find myself passing through the ornate wooden entrance doors of Wat Suthat, situated near the city's centre. I have an appointment at the altar with the "god of good vision" inside its high-roofed Burmese-style wihara or central pavilion. I leave the wat with an enlivened sense of smell, thanks to pots of powerful vegetable curry which the resident kitchen staff have been busily stewing for a ceremonial feast that evening. Nearest to Wat Suthat is the formidable Wat Saket, perched on top of the Golden Mountain, with its towering trumpet-like pagoda visible from almost any point in central Bangkok.
The most recent was King Rama V, who constructed the present pagoda and installed a precious relic - reputedly a piece of Buddha's collarbone - inside it. Every day, some 2,000 sightseers struggle up the Golden Mountain to Wat Saket to catch the 360-degree panoramic view of the city from its concourse - except during the wet season in August. Says Saket's monk-turned-caretaker Assajita Awale: "We don't allow tourists up onto the concourse during electrical storms. Even with our lightning rod installed, no amount of good fortune can protect you from a wayward thunderbolt." According to reports, the Buddhist temple's primary motivation was to keep the statue out of foreign hands. Said one auction insider of the selling price, "Buddha himself [would] have been surprised by this."

The full story is incomplete, but it is believed the Buddha statue eventually found its way to a Japanese antique shop where a buyer picked it up for an undisclosed sum. Suspecting that it was hollow inside because of its unusually light weight, the astute buyer had the piece X-rayed by the Tokyo National Museum. In the belly of the Buddha, three ceremonial objects were discovered. They had been sealed inside the torso for over 800 years.
Unkei was one of the great carvers of the early Kamakura period. Made of cyprus wood, the Buddha sits in a lotus position, with hair pulled up into a tight chignon, and wears royal dress and jewelry. The deity forms a distinctive hand gesture known as the "knowledge fist," one of many Buddhist ritual poses or "mudras." Buddhas carved during the early Kamakura period are considered among the finest Buddhist art in existence.Artfact Analysis
Like many countries, Japan is fiercely protective of its artistic assets and has designated 12 works made or believed to have been made by Unkei as national treasures. The Christie's piece was not on the list and therefore eligible for exportation. Before the auction, there was reportedly a petition campaign in Japan to keep the piece at home out of fear that it would lead to an outflow of other national treasures.
The campaign was apparently unsuccessful, but there was enough press on the subject to stir supporters into raising money to bid at Christie's. Had the Buddhist temple not stepped up to buy the piece, it would have gone to the under-bidder, an American collector.
The record price "is a testament to the extreme importance and beauty of this supreme Buddha, and elevates Japanese art to a new record level," said Katsura Yamaguchi, Christie's director of Japanese and Korean Art.
It is very unusual for a piece of this importance to suddenly resurface on the market. The previous record for a Japanese work of art was $1.76 million for a Rakuchu Rakugai screen, sold at Christie's in 1990. Over the past few years, sales of Asian art in New York have led to nice returns for the auction houses, with Sotheby's and Christie's selling $129.4 million worth of Asian art last year, up from $97.9 million in 2006.
To put this $14 million price into perspective, Sotheby's recently sold a tiny, ancient Mesopotamian sculpture for $57 million, setting a record for any sculpture or antiquity at auction.

The grounds of the 260-year-old Hua Krabeu temple on the outskirts of Bangkok look like a place where water buffalo go to die.

Beneath simple tarmac shelters, thousands of water buffalo skulls are stacked in piles that tower over two metres (six feet) high, a grim homage to an animal that was once an iconic part of Thailand's landscape.
The abbot of the Buddhist temple, Phra Khru Wiboonpattankit, has been collecting the skulls for more than 35 years. He hopes eventually to have enough to build a three-storey tower that will house a memorial to the beast.
nside the mountain of skulls, which he says will stand at the end of a path also decorated with buffalo heads, will be a cave housing an image of the Buddha.
When the abbot first moved to the temple 35 years ago, he found villagers had left 10 skulls at the grounds in remembrance of their dead buffalo.
As he developed the idea for his memorial, he began encouraging other villagers to donate skulls when their buffalo died. He slowly amassed a collection of 1,000 skulls, which was nowhere near enough to build his shrine.
So he a few years ago he began asking for cash donations to buy skulls from slaughterhouses.
He now has 8,000, including one prized piece whose head and horns are perfectly symmetrical and undamaged, which cost him 3,500 baht (about 100 dollars).
Although Thais relied for centuries on water buffalo to plow their rice paddies, provide transportation and even defend villages during war, now the animals are falling from favour.
Over the past decade, farming has become mechanised, reducing the need for the animals' labour. In many rural areas, water buffalo are now prized as a delicacy more than a beast of burden.
"Kwai," the Thai word for water buffalo, is synonymous with "stupid," and for many people it is a reminder of a not-too-distant, less developed past in a country that has modernised rapidly.
The abbot however sees things differently.
"These animals have proven to be useful from the day they are born until after they die. People who do not contribute to the society they live in should not be ashamed of the buffaloes," the 62-year-old monk told AFP.
As he walks past his collection of skulls, he says he wants them to remind people that the animals are slowly disappearing from Thailand.
The kingdom has about 1.3 million buffaloes, down from 4.7 million in 1990, according to Ancharlie na Chiang Mai, a senior researcher at the government's livestock department.
The number continues to drop because about 300,000 buffaloes are slaughtered each year for meat while only about 200,000 calves are born annually, she said.
The changes in Thailand are visible around the temple, whose name translates as "Temple of Buffalo Heads".
When Wiboonpattankit first arrived here 35 years ago, the temple was surrounded by rice paddies worked by buffalo.
Now the city has grown up around it, and there are more stores and cars than fields and animals.
The abbot has a penchant for collecting. He was investigated by Thailand's main Buddhist group for assembling a collection of more than 60 antique Mercedes Benz cars, which critics said violated his vows of poverty.
He said the cars had been donated so that the temple could run a training programme for young mechanics. Investigators believed him and his name was cleared.
His stash of skulls is still not enough to achieve his dream of using them to build a shrine to the buffalo, but he says the donations that he uses to buy in skulls is helping.
"They come in a pick-up truck," he said. "A pick-up carries about 30 to 40 heads at a time. A truckload costs about 10,000 baht (3,000 dollars)."
"I think I have the world's biggest collection of buffalo skulls," he said.
He still needs enormous contributions to finance the construction, but hopes that once it's complete, the shrine to buffalo will provoke some self-examination among visitors.
"Life is not meaningful if you do not make yourself useful to society," he said. "Don't be someone who others would be happy to see die."

Unable to Do needle injection

One miracle about takrut kar sa tong happened on 19 September 2007.
Mr.Tavorn NaJak was 59 years old who was a member of SaiNoi Local Administration. He lived in Phrae province. He was shot by criminal. A criminal used a short gun shoot 5 times to him. A bullet shaved his head. His hair slipped off disarranged. But he was not wounded from this event.

Escape from Accident
This accident happen to one of my friend Mr Roy Sim. He was wearing Kruba noi kar sa tong takrut and riding his motorbike along Tuas road( heavy Industrial area and Traffic).
He was riding at a fast speed and did not saw an oil patch in front of the road. His motorbike came across the oil batch which it went out of control and ski along the road. He was then flee out of this bike and fell hard on the middle of the road, rowing a few meters.
At that point of time one car behind him was also driving at a fast speed approaching him, but Miraculously it managed to drive out of the way, barely and nearly avoid knocking him down.
Roy t immediately pick himself up and realised that surprisingly he was not hurt or suffered from any bone fractured despite the bad fall. He did not even went to the hospital for further check up as he was feeling perfectly fine.
He strongly believed that Kruba Noi takrut Kar sar tong had saved his life.

Thai Buddhist temple has been reprimanded by religious authorities for selling amulets containing the ashes of cremated infants to raise money for a plot of land and a crematorium, an official said on Tuesday.
The bodies of 28 foetuses or infants who died of natural causes were cremated legally at the temple's ageing incinerator, they said, as Thailand 's craze for Jatukam Ramathep amulets promising wealth showed no signs of easing.
"It is not illegal, but it is inappropriate," an official of the local office of Buddhism told Reuters.
"The chief provincial monk has submitted a formal reprimand letter to the temple's abbot," said the official, who declined to be identified.
The Thawee Kara Anant temple in a northern Bangkok suburb was taking advantage of a craze for the amulets that promise to make their owners "super rich" or "rich without reason" sweeping across predominantly Buddhist Thailand.

The idea of mixing the human ashes into the "Multiple Rich" amulets came after neighbours told the abbot they saw spirits of dead infants buried in the temple graveyard in their dreams asking to be freed, monk Lertsak Thitayano told Reuters.
"The abbot wanted to set them free so he decided to cremate them and make merit for them by mixing their ashes into the amulets to empower them in helping the people," he said.
To gain maximum "power", the Jatukam Ramathep amulets, named after two Hindu gods, have to be prayed over by monks for days.
The bodies of 28 foetuses or infants who died of natural causes were cremated legally at the temple's ageing incinerator, they said, as Thailand 's craze for Jatukam Ramathep amulets promising wealth showed no signs of easing.
"It is not illegal, but it is inappropriate," an official of the local office of Buddhism told Reuters.
"The chief provincial monk has submitted a formal reprimand letter to the temple's abbot," said the official, who declined to be identified.
The Thawee Kara Anant temple in a northern Bangkok suburb was taking advantage of a craze for the amulets that promise to make their owners "super rich" or "rich without reason" sweeping across predominantly Buddhist Thailand.
